Dutch
I am looking for a place from which to view the April eclipse. Just looking at a map Grand Gulf State Park looks like it might be off the beaten path and might not draw a crowd. What about it SEMO guys? Where would you suggest? bfishn
Courtesy of NationalEclipse.com . The center green line is the longest totality, the outer yellow lines mark the limits of totality. There's a cool interactive map that gives a data report for any spot you click on at http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/solar_eclipses/TSE_2024_GoogleMapFull.html BilletHead and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 I can't dance like I used to. jdmidwest
That is pretty well the line. The farm is in the path. Poplar Bluff and Perryville are having big events all day. Looks like Grand Gulf will be in it too. I watched the 2017 one from the front yard, similar path. Birds stopped chirping, everything got still. Well then JD I think we should converge at your place. 😁 We picked a conservation area North East for the last one. We were in the best part of the path. It was really neat and would not mind doing this deal again. The downside is everyone else had the same idea. Traffic was crazy. No fun driving in that. Dutch
JD do you think Grand Gulf will be crowded? Terrierman
fishinwrench
You're supposed to do that crap in grade school, and then be done with it for the rest of your life. 😅 To celebrate it every time it happens is like running out to the stubble fields, and standing there to witness the yearly starling migration. 🙄

You could watch it at Lasseters ramp on Spring River in town and trout fish at Thayer. You never know who are what will be promoting it. I will probably be watching thru the windshield of my work car, it's on a Tuesday. Last time I was on leave for cancer and just was outside working on the boat if I remember. I think Poplar Bluff is going to have the longest duration of totality from what I hear. The farm is about 25 miles up the line of the path and work near Cape Girardeau on same line. I will be at best point no matter what that day. snagged in outlet 3 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Dutch
Thanks JD. I’ve never been there but it sounded like it might not be heavily used.
