Louisiana Redfish Trip Video

Recommended Posts

Created a video of a Louisiana fishing trip I recently had. Special place and it's a lot closer than FL or the Carolinas. I've been a couple of times so ping me if you are interested in logistics, guide, etc.

          Fun!

A friend of mine and was a previous OAF Member Richard Button And a from a recommendation from @gotmuddy went to the San Bernard River near to where it dumps into the gulf in Texas. Man we had a great time. Catching so many on the fly and spinning gear when it was impossible to cast the fly rod. Next year Richard again went with @gotmuddy, @Ham and @grizwilson.

Richard and I on our trip. Boy I miss that guy. Those redfish are pretty tasty.

Thanks @dpitt for posting and bringing back memories from 2014

Thanks for posting the video.  Haven't had time to watch it yet, but in my future I want to do a redfish trip.

I haven't caught one yet and definitely want to catch a few. We have them along the coast here in the late summer and fall. Just haven't put in the time to get one on the line yet. Certainly wouldn't mind catching them in LA or TX.

you wont find much info about it online really. its between the brazos and the colorado rivers in texas.  Mainly a winter time fishery.  the cedar lakes to the west and cowtrap lake have the highest concentration of redfish in the state according to shocking data I found from TPWD.  Honestly if you live in south LA its not worth the drive since you have Venice in your back yard.

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
