No, maybe because mine have decent noise cancelling.   I only get distortion if I am in a really strong wing like in a boat and running hard.  I really hate to take them out when I fish, but have demonstrated beyond doubt that I am too clumsy these days and I will lose one or both eventually if I don’t.

Probably a good idea to leave them at home when fishing. Of course, I wasn't planning on going in the water. :D

The clothes I was wearing were about the worst possible for that fiasco. Fortunately, I alway keep a couple trash bags in the car. That's a holdover from when the kids were young. More than a couple times I had to bag them up to get them home without trashing the car. So, the inside of the car was kept pretty clean and dry. I'm happy about that because I have a couple dignitaries coming into town this week from Milo, MO, and I wouldn't want the car all stinky smelling :D

Ha we appreciate that 😀.  Dignitaries? More like hobos.

I used to fish with someone that was hard of hearing on the Bella Vista lakes.  We'd be out there at 0600, there's houses all over the lake, quiet as can be, and He'd yell at me when he was talking.  "WHAT ARE YOU USING!"  "I JUST GOT A BITE!".   "DID YOU WATCH THE GAME LAST NIGHT!".  The hard of hearing don't realize that the normal hearing folks can hear OK.

My hearing is going downhill, just a matter of time before I need aids.

Like a lot of things, you'll probably wish you'd done it sooner when you do. I'm sure glad I finally did it. I don't have to have the TV on 25 when Kathy only needs about 10. Now, the soft-talker at work is still a problem, but I'm not alone in having that issue.

Here too at times. Worst of all when Pat or someone else is talking and looking the other way.

My hearing aids don't help with that, too much. The sound will be loud enough to hear but garbled by having to go around the speaker. I don't have to be looking at the speaker but it sure helps if they look in my general direction.

I don't get weird sounds from the creeks either but inside restaurants the distortion is so amplified that I wish for  shooting muffs.   What is and isn't distorted probably depends on the frequency range and severity of hearing loss.

So, what color Mop Fly did you catch them on ?

We’ll, look who’s trying to spoil my little party😀

The hatchery ones were on a little stimulator with a bead head pheasant tail dropper. Most were on the stimi.

Brook trout same setup but on the dropper.

The ones at the ranch were on dry/dry setup with a EHC and a teeny something below.  All on the EHC

Yeah, restaurants are the worst. A lot of times I just check out of the conversation.

We've got sound masking at the office and to me it sounds like a jet engine going all day. A while back I pulled my favorite IT guy aside and asked him if he could do something about it. Next thing I know he's on a step ladder, adjusting things up in the ceiling all around the floor to quiet it down. The NEXT next thing I know, the sales manager for our loan officers is at my door saying all the prima donna sales guys are complaining because they are overhearing the guy in the next cube over now. So, we found something in the middle.

I've been known to just pop the battery doors half open on the Phonaks in some restaurants and  at any gathering in a school gymnasium.
