Average USA working person takes 4.3 months (129 days) off work every year. That time can all or part  be spent doing a cash income hobby/job/business  that no one knows how much you might  make. You can pay yourself as much as you want doing that?

I suck, 10 vacation days and 2 hours personal time per month after 21 years of service.

Don't get anything with steps.   That's what my older buddies tell me.

I am retiring on 235 acres with lots of inclines.  I hope I fall and kill myself fast.  Or just slip out of the boat and drown peacefully.  Don't want the nursing home that is been claiming Dad for over 2 years now.

They taught me a lot about life, one of the important things being - care about your own future, don't rely on others to take care of you.

That has been my philosophy about retirement.  Started the IRA about 1986 and always contributed the max to the 401K.  It worked for me.

Local gym has a stair climber machine, I can do about 7 minutes max.  It's a workout.  Don't fear the steps, embrace them.  😃

At home I use an air bike.   At the condo I use the stairs for a workout.   My older buddies are mid to late 70’s and neighbors are mid to late 80’s.  No matter how much you workout Mother Nature is undefeated.

Yes we all die.  However I do believe that one should try and stay as functional as possible up to the date you keel over.  If you can of course, some folks get dealt a bad hand and there's not a lot you can do about it if that is the case.

Me too.  I’ve really gotten after it the past 5 years so I can finally enjoy an active retirement.  Which means, FISHING!!!!!   ALOT!!

I'm going through a mental phase right now, where all I truly want is some time where I have nothing that I absolutely need to do.

Just stand on the porch deck, butt naked, with a box of donuts, and watch the clouds go by👍

No phone calls or text messages. No  driving. No conversation. Just Peace!  🥰
