Members pjlures
I remember a guy telling how he broke his arm when he was a kid. They were so poor he fell out of a persimmon tree eating breakfast. Terrierman, Daryk Campbell Sr and BilletHead 1

As well as the furry caterpillars, and so many other old tales. I have a wild persimmon tree in my back yard. I'll have to see if my results are the same. Gonna be a week or so. Johnsfolly
Persimmons need to be really ripe for me to try them. To many puckers from less than ideal fruit. A little grove of persimmons surrounded by oaks can be a great spot to hunt deer. Especially after a frost. bfishn and Daryk Campbell Sr

I've never picked a good one from the tree, but all those that were freshly fallen were tasty. Have to check daily to beat the critters (or rot) to the ones on the ground. Until frost touches them they're gonna pucker you right up. Alum is what that reminds me of. After a hard frost, they're kind of like dates.
