Is it too cold right now for trout? I figured they were a cold water, lazy fish. Also, what lures work best here?

Went a month ago to the spots ive caught trout and nothing was biting. they were biting at the beginning of fall. The lures ive used and caught trout with are various rooster tails, the aquila, and mepps spinners. I planned on going tomorrow morning as my thanksgiving will be on saturday. I also do have a fly rod with various flies but ive just been really lazy this year with it, might have to bust that out tomorrow.

Marabou jigs work.   Go to Lilleys Landing and they’ll sell you the latest hot color.

Never too cold for trout. In fact, I like it better. Maybe that's because of the lack of people..

Agree with Pete. Go to Lilley's and get some jigs. You'll catch 'em.

4 pound line max, 2 pound preferably.   Or I like 3 pound P line.

So, genius, how does 2 pound preferably square with you liking 3 pound P line.  Are you trying to mess with my mind?

Just trying to help a brother out.   If he’s new he might be using too heavy of line.   3 pound is a good tweener so you don’t need two setups.   Sometimes you can get away with 4 pound other times you just won’t get bit until you go to 2.  Sooooo.  3 pound.  Proof with photos.
Snagged, AKA the genius   😆

That 3# P-Line handles most trout park fish  and I use it and 4# Vanish quite a bit. The biggest brown I ever caught was on 2# P-Line. Pete is right on the money.

Oh for crying out loud, now he's going to be even more insufferable.🙃
