My lovely wife, and one of her friends just borrowed my truck and spent 300.00 so that later on this year we can have 20.00 worth of vegetables 🙄

I just don't get it.   Why ???? 😒

We have 2 farms in the bottoms about 2 miles from the house.   You can buy a lot of veggies for $300.

this way you know the origins of your veggies!  If you go to the Piggly wigglys  you will have all kinds of stuff sprayed on it. If you get it from the Amish, you never know if they emptied their chamber pot into the garden or not. I also know for a fact some buy from commercial growers and resell to you. Tell Sugar Britches I am really proud of her!  Two things. First it is good for the soul and body to garden second is her new deal aggravates you so much!😁

You simply can not buy homegrown tomatoes. Not nowhere. They by definition must be grown at home.  To think otherwise is obtuse. You might be given tomatoes that were homegrown by a friend or neighbor, but if they are for sale they are commercially grown. $$= commerce.

I love tomatoes but I won't the ones from a store, grown in Asia or South America with chemicals that are illegal here, picked green and chemically reddened at  the destination before sale, so that they look ripe. Don't usually eat them at restaurants either, the taste is just wrong. That is why they invented "salad dressing"; to cover up the taste of imported veggies.

The burger joint up the road always throws a slice or two of nasty pithy white tomato on their sandwiches 🙄.     I mean seriously, if that's all you can get.....then just say "Sorry, we're out of tomatoes".
