Fishing Goals 2026

1) 4000 fish on hook and line

2) 20 Snakehead

3) a missouri Snakehead

4) 25 Bowfin

5) 30 inch bowfin on fly

6) 100 species on fly

7) get Lifetime on fly to 200 species (I am at 163 now)

I plan on fishing 1/1//2026 so Let’s Go!

Well, I think my wife is gonna keep me up late on NYE so I might better stay local and see if I can catch a few fish here. 
I do have a lot of interest in the walleye run below Beaver Lake. And above.

My 2026 list of goals/targets has some carryover from 2025 and prior. I have a few business trips planned that I will tack on days to fish. A March trip to SD is my most exciting scheduled trip. I based my lifer target based upon getting close to ten or more lifers on that trip alone.

1) NJ / NY Lifer Exotic - 

2) Redfish / Conger Eel / Flounder

3) Lifer Bullhead / madtom - snail or spotted / tadpole - 

4) Skate / Ray / Shark 

5) 2 Darters / sculpin

6) 25 Lifers

A couple of side quests😉

Catch PB Striper / Flounder / Blackfish

Catch 75 Shad 

Catch a Trout from 6 new MD locations

5 new trout states

1 Arkansas Master Angler

1 state trout slam

2 new species

Geez. After today my goal is just to catch a fish in 2026. Hopefully put that to rest on Thursday but I'm not real confident!
