snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 I had plans to hit the river today but they are blown out so I went to Busch for urban trout to soak my sorrows. Place was packed!! I counted 43 at one point with people still walking in because the parking was full and they were parking down the road. Didn't matter, everyone was catching. Decent fish too. A couple at 15 inches easily and some hot blonde caught on that was close to 20"s. Fish came from Montauk. Even though it's flies only power bait and power worms were were everywhere. I drug a bugger and caught my 10th at the 38 minute mark. Quit counting after that and left after an hour or so. Rip rap is real tough on fly lines Great weather and it was better than watching TV. Johnsfolly Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Congrats. I have always liked the urban trout program. Gives a great sunday afternoon diversion for those that just can't easily get to a trout stream or tailwater. Daryk Campbell Sr and snagged in outlet 3 2
Members Micah Denham Posted December 27, 2018 Members Posted December 27, 2018 What color bugger, and other flies do they like down there? Been wanting to get out there! Also, know of any local creeks or rivers that have some good fishing? small/largemouth, gill, crappie, anything. lol Thanks for the update!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 27, 2018 Author Posted December 27, 2018 Olive black brown white, if they don’t bite it switch color till they do. Micah Denham 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 28, 2018 Author Posted December 28, 2018 They put 2400 in that pond. If you don’t get bit in 8-10 casts just keep switching till you do. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
mhall02 Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Tried 21 Monday the 24 and didn't get a strike. Think those 'catch and release' lakes with flies only is an option to some from what I saw. One guy was standing there with a bait bucket, rod in hand, line out and no reeling. The other was using an orange plastic worm....There was a nice big dead one on the shore along the dam, looked to be 4 or 5 lbs. Johnsfolly 1

I saw a guy sneaking trout into his “gear”bag. I just get tired of calling it out so I leave. I don’t think some know the regs because they don’t try to hide it but the guy clearly poaching them definitely knew the rules.
