  1. I dont like to judge my abilities on others' failures, but.., I sometimes feel a little less bad when I see others having similar struggles.
  2. Unfortunately most everyone will have a sliding scale of cleanliness to affordability. We all have different gauges within the sliding scale. I second Lilley's Landing for cleanliness and excellent service, but it's not Motel 6 price.
  3. Great times, excellent photos. Sorry about the Ray. Them gaftopsail catfish are so cool. The iridescent color seems like it would be a bad choice for survival.
  4. Using my back yard as a gauge, I have a creek runoff pond behind me, it is not horrible yet. Yesterday the creek was up 6 or 7 feet higher than Thursday morning. The creek had turned from a bit dingy to full on churned up chocolate milk.
  5. You mentioned the fish showing interest the quickly turning away. That seemed to happen to me when I used coffee scented red worms. It was very frustrating. I wonder if your worms had a scent that was turning the fish away.
  6. I'm more interested, impressed or satisfied with that write up. Talk about "just the facts", that's exactly wht they did. I applaud the writer. Why can't all news be presented so simply? (Rhetorical question, no political discussion warranted).
  7. Wow, that is alot of valuable information. Glad to see you are still around.
  8. Well, that only makes sense in a scenario such as that. There should also be an easement clause to keep that land open. I like the option they use in the driftless region with the gates as well.
  9. I really like that net. I went out for your birthday also. I didn't do as well though. Happy birthday!!
  10. That sounds like a neat plan.
  11. Interesting conversation.
  12. Im about 35 miles south of the Arch downtown St Louis. My neighborhood dud well. About 15 miles north in Arnold, MO (roughly halfway) they got alot of damage. I'm told a tornado went through. Seen some video and there are alot of large trees down. I got enough last year , and if I had to deal with it again, I'm not sure my insurance company would keep me. Fortunately the weather today was very tolerable. I'm willing to help where needed.
  13. Nothing of size, but less than an hour and a half of daylight left. Casting on an ultra light rod and reel from Lilley's Landing, with a jig from @JUNGLE JIM 1. I was lucky enough (and very grateful) to receive a good amount of jigs to tie myself.
  14. One of our members fished with @dpittduring Jigfest this year. He had a great time.
  15. I didn't want tobbemreak my 46 year streak of not going to an opener, so i stayed home.
  16. Sorry about my delay. Sent mine this evening. I've been nose to the grindstone working on a full kitchen remodeling, on top of being sick. These are mini gurglers. I cut the foam by hand and there isn't much consistency. I do believe they will do fine though. I tied a similar pattern last year or before and did really well on panfish. These have a more pronounced tail, and are supposed to make noise while being stripped.
  17. I went the guide route on Taneycomo via Excel Fishing Charter, it didn't cost much more than a rental. Included equipment, knowledge, and an overall good time for me and my son.
  18. Great tip to clean the eye of loose hair. That's one I needed.
  19. Thank you for including me. I just figured you had my posts blocked for some reason. I will get on some this weekend, I got the address.
  20. I am interested as well.
  21. Family portrait of one of our members.
