  1. Just what the phone "saw". I honestly wouldn't have taken the picture if others weren't getting neat colors of the sky. I took a few others, all random as I couldn't see anything different than any other night.
  2. I will bring the smoker chicken thighs, wings and charcoal. I will bring peanuts and some deviled eggs as well. Anyone is welcome to use the smoker and charcoal.
  3. I think she's been around long enough. She's seen our worst. Im looking forward to the gathering.
  4. I couldn't not see anything wirh the naked eye. This was what my phone produced.
  5. I included yours in the reply I made of the text thread.
  6. I've seen the brand, I dont know if I have ever bought them. They do seem familiar though.
  7. Here is the request from our group text: Ray: large Kevin, Brandon, DJ, Rob :XL we will be sure to have a collection while there for CAM.
  8. I'm gonna be greedy and ask for 2. (l) Xl, and (1) 2xl. I'll gladly pay. I'm in-between weights and not sure what will fit better long term.
  9. They still reside there. I've seen them, a black widow, and scorpions on S-F property. As well as deer, turkey and many species of snakes.
  10. What does that mean for electricity?
  11. I bought the (half) pork loin from Walmart. I did not trim it at all. The recipe states to wrap it with food safe thread. I didn't have any, so I used the skewers. I used the recipe from the following link. I thought it was amazing, the kids didn't seem to care for it, but they insist it was good. https://cookthestory.com/how-to-stuff-pork-loin/ The Brussels sprouts were tossed in olive oil, course ground salt and pepper. Roasted for 20 minutes while the pork was resting, added the parmesean cheese after and roasted for 5 or 10 minutes longer with the pork.
  12. Growing up with parents who didn't fish, I was a recipient of the opportunity to fish for trout. There are many who get to experience the option to catch trout in those ponds. Many city folks dont have quality transportation to leave their 1 county area, much less travel within 5 counties. Side note, St Louis City is not within any county. While the expenses are tough to justify especially when you are not on the receiving end, I can tell you from personal experience it is a great positive to the residents who fish. You may have heard all of the negative about the bucket brigade, and I won't try to act like it doesn't exist. But there are many many more who do adhere to the laws. Them same city people buy licenses and trout stamps for the same price as the country people. I would tend to believe the country people benefit more per dollar spent as they have more options than ~20 or so stocked ponds within area of city residents. Truth be told most fish less than 5 ponds. Luckily for me, I found this forum. Honestly. I've learned much more and had many more experiences, and new waters that I would never considered. All for the same cost as the limited city kid who modifies his bike to hold 2 rods and carries his takle box on the handlebars to ride 2-3 miles to the nearest pond in December.
  13. Respect to the guy for releasing it, when it could have been a record. That's cool.
  14. I've got quite a few. LOL. I'll include some.
  15. I heard he's an avid Bingo player as well. Excellent song.
  16. That's right. Forest Park has a stream that most wouldn't consider capable of being fished. I only caught green sunfish ans a couple times bluegill, but it was a great way to spend the day. The foam fly is one I tied and have had tremendous luck with. The spinner was just a fun creation that has done well. Literally a piece of stainless wire trying to mimic a mini rooster tail. The crick hopper is a temu special. I got a multi pack for less than a single at Walmart. I caught many more, but took pictures of these. I had a ton of snips, that I just coukd not get fast enough reaction time to set the hook. It got almost frustrating. LOL.
  17. I don't remember the first fish I landed and touched. I do remember the first fish I was supposed to catch. My brothers took over the fight. It was on my Zebco 202 combo in Boathouse Lake at Carondalet Park in St Louis City. I baited it with corn, casted it, and failed to pay attention. A guy that was older than us saw the take, and frustratingly alerted us. I started to reel it in, my brothers forced their way to take over. I may have been 8 or 9. It was a common carp. We took it home. That's about 45 minutes to an hour walk through the city. Then our parents wanted nothing to do with it. LOL. We were told to cook it on the barbecue pit. 3 boys who probably never started a (controlled) fire at this point. We (they) butchered that fish. Still had random scales and bones when it was placed over the fire. I cant remember the taste. But the texture was not for me. LOL. I've had carp since, and it was good.
  18. Fun times. Great write up. Lots of opportunities there and you seemed to get your money's worth.
  19. I have no experience with any of the lane assist features. I'm sure it will be a thing that isn't optional soon, but I'm not ready.
  20. I seem to remember on that was canceled due to potential ice, and the first Taneyfest was in lieu of it. Turns out the weather down there was better than what we had in Branson.
  21. I apologize, and take full responsibility. You see, Friday I power washed my deck with plans to re stain it on Sunday. Well, we all know how that eneded, or hasn't.
