I went last week and got some of the hellgramites. I won't expect to use them for another month or so. But who knows, I might get to swing them into my local pond.

Boating Rules - Question
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
Writing a specific law would be very tricky. As mentioned, how would you determine if another was underway or not?. Secondly, some areas may not have enough usable water to give a reasonable distance between bank and structure. Add jet boats to the equation, as they need to stay on plane, makes it really sloppy. Courtesy. That is what people really need to start preaching and bragging about. The social dynamics change when people start bragging. -
Beautiful day...... tough bite. 2/15/2023

Thanks for the info. I plan to get to some kind of water this weekend. Have to see how things play out. -
I wonder if the lust for fishing is starting to fade. Seems with covid and pre covid fishing was the thing to do. Now, the chatter has slowed down and people are reporting fewer people on the water. No complaints from me.

When will we learn to quit? -
I don't understand what was "suspicious" about it. Guess just a buzz to keep you reading. Cool fish none the less.

Sorry to hear about the problems. Great looking setup.

I had no idea you fly fished. Cool. -
My animals never have any money on them. Yours have jewelry, now cash!! I'm envious of the BilletHeadville wildlife. Looks good man.

Awesome information. Glad to see both of you posting. Cajun Melon will be purchased this weekend. .....Along with a couple others I'm sure.

The New Yorker was probably lost. There is a Montauk, New York. I was researching Montauk state park, and Montauk NY, kept coming up in the results.

I'm not a smoker other than the occasional cigar. Have no issues with pot, if you want it, have it. Just funny to me that it was illegal and problematic until they finally found a better way to benefit.

I can tell you, many. Surprisingly it is not the local ones to St Louis. I got 2 pre recorded video boxes that were personalized to me. Similar to a talking picture frame crossed with a tablet computer. They are color screens, framed and have video that plays. The lawyer addressed me by name, and mentioned the accident in the video. I've gotten magnets, brochures, and other junk. One firm makes sure to reach out to me monthly or semi monthly reminding me of how long it's been and assuring me that the insurance company is dragging its feet, and that their specific firm will be able to make a difference. But, none are really addressing my healing, or loss of daily activities or how different therapies, or emotional support groups, or family support, etc will assist in my getting back to where I was prior to the event. Just how much money they have gotten awarded in the past. To be honest, 20 million dollars isn't gonna do me any good if I don't get to walk properly again to be able to hike into some tough spots for fishing or portaging the canoe I havent been able to work on. Or if my PTSD continues and I am still to scared to drive because the lanes seem so much narrower nowadays. Etc. Sorry, I know you weren't looking for a soapbox, but it really is tough, when many see the financial "gain" potential, here I am just wanting to be able to sleep and walk like I did in mid August. Editing to add, Im sorry it reads like a slam or complaining about your question Rick. I'm not, your curiosity is valid. Keep asking any questions, as RPS mentioned, yall are all family to me. I'm an open book. -
So, it apparently went over my subdivision, many pictures of it from others in the area of Festus. They all look similar to the others being shared. Are bank cameras being used to photograph it? I seen closer/cleaner pictures of the lunar eclipse. Anyhow, I was hoping Wish was delivering the solar panels I ordered a year ago.

No issues to report as of yet. We both have the same company, Travelers. My health insurance company is paying all of my medical bills, and subrogating from the auto insurance. -
Any plastics bait makers on this site?

@Pepewas doing baits. Not sure if he still does . -
Chicken bacon ranch pasta homeade. It was good but heavy. The garlic cheese bread is store bought. Just seen that this thread is over 10 years old. Wow, we've been here for a long time.

So it is time for an update, I guess. I was able to remove my walking boot last Thursday. I am now limping a little less some times and a little more other times. I am also able to slowly and carefully get up and down my stairs into the basement where my office is. It is nice getting back to somewhat normal. PT is showing the rewards and benefits. I do try to always do my exercises but there are just those days where the pain from over doing it the previous day really makes it impossible. I still have a long road, but I can definitely see the progress made. I haven't been using my wheelchair much unless it will be a really long day of walking. I am really grateful for the stores having the electric carts. Those really make a difference. I'm not able to walk up and down the bank to the creek, but have a local pond I can visit. I have been tying a few flies for bluegill, can't wait for spring. Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, positive vibes and just plain responding on here. It really makes my journey much easier. I really do appreciate it, alot more than I ever considered. -
Just a little residual ice in the shaded areas from Sunday night's weather. Roads are fine. About 30 miles south of St Louis in Festus.

Winter Fly Swap - Streamers
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to mic's topic in Fly Swaps & other Activities
CWF, when you first posted that you were gonna join and the name of your fly, I figured it was a hoax from Paul Dallas. My apologies. -
Looks like a pretty well attended event. Maybe even some crossover info and items to interest fisherman of other species. I seen where this year's Catfish Conference is now to be Catfish and Crappie Conference. We all really want similar things.
