  1. Thank you for the follow up. Including the mishaps, seems like a good time. I used to follow an early YouTube fisherman that fished the Eno. He called himself Uncle Steve. His YouTube channel is adamitshelanu. He had many experiments. Well rounded smart man.
  2. Your compressed photos look great.
  3. I hope to.start tying again soon. All of my setup is in the basement. I have plenty of hooks right now. But if you are selling materials, I may be able to buy some.
  4. I've seen videos of these. They would be good for offshore type fishing as you get a good view of the water and decide where to drop in and fish.
  5. A couple of years ago I was listening to a discussion of fall colors and how/why they happen. They trees actually retract what they need from the leaves in order for the tree to go dormant. The length of fall color had alot to do with how dry or moist the soil is. Spring soil moisture has a bearing on the colors' vibrancy. That being said, I believe per the info this year will be a quick and not so vibrant year for alot of the Midwest due to the lack of rain all year. Now, I am no Meteorologist, and I did hear this from a well respected Meteorologist. Just not one I respect for personal reasons. A story best told in person.
  6. I passed it right up, thought it was an ad.
  7. Here are some pictures of the accident and recovery. Nothing gory but the accident scene is tough. This shows my first holding cast with pins holding the bones in place until the swelling subsided. then my surgery and got a soft cast for a few weeks. now i have my third cast, it will be on for 4 weeks. Got it yesterday. here are the current x-rays of my left foot. I was passenger in the cream colored van.
  8. No need to apologize for being vague. Thanks for the report. Sounds like a perfect trip.
  9. I have a history of getting "out" of a boat. LOL. I may be able to make a better and more informed decision as time progresses. But, I don't want to offset the numbers when the possibility is so strong. I appreciate the support, and I know I got friends in the OAF community to help.
  10. I may or may not have sent him a PM or 2 over the years. LOL
  11. I'm not gonna make it. Not expecting to put any weight on my left foot until late November. Learning to walk will not be fun in current while wading, and I don't know what it would be like on a boat. Have fun and be safe all. See ya next year.
  12. That looks like a good box. Best of luck Saturday.
  13. And he stood there alone.
  14. Yup, I fear rabies when theybare out during the day. OLD YELLER really created a fear and awareness in me of raccoons.
  15. Those were some awesome takedowns.
  16. Dave, be careful of them raccoons during the day. I've seen many in the day at campgrounds, but they are usually nocturnal.
  17. Wired2fish has an article that includes a video showing the full weigh in, someone could be heard contesting the winners' fish. The announcer instantly and in full view accepted the contested request, and it was on. 9:39 is the time it starts with the cheaters' weigh in. https://www.wired2fish.com/news/walleye-tournament-director-catches-cheaters-red-handed.
  18. @JohnsfollyNot to brag, but I may have you beat. Thanks for the report @Bassin4funwhile I wish things could have been better for you, it seems you were having a good time nonetheless.
  19. You are right on the area. We were just past Raintree, coming down the hill towards Big River. I could not have done anything differently if I was driving. This was a situation where you can't control the other driver. The situation always preached about to new drivers. We are very fortunate that there are no crosses at the end of the skid marks.
  20. If you had to guess, what made the difference of.your success vs the others?
  21. Proper use of tools is key.
