  1. Many still do, but as always the few ruin it for the many.
  2. I'm more of a stream guy than lake guy. But I tend to catch the bluegill more in areas they can be protected. Tree roots, grassy areas, cut out banks, etc. I know crickets were mentioned before, but a couple YouTubers I follow swear by the gulp minnows on a 1/16 Oz jighead.
  3. As far as the bowfishing goes, I really think it has reached its peak in popularity. I am on a few groups, and I see a dramatic decrease in activity on the groups and YouTube videos. Damage that has been done cannot be reversed. I also believe that most people who are pulling the bowstring have no idea of the fishing laws, nor do they care. I bought one myself, with intentions of taking some Asian Carp in my local waters. But I have a hard time to justify killing with no use of the bounty. So my outfit collects dust. If I could use the meat, and I know it's edible, but don't really want to clean them, then I would consider.
  4. Excellent trip.
  5. I've been using CXX for a few years. I don't fish nearly as often or hard as most. I have the smaller spools, 4lb and 8lb. I have nothing negative to say about it.
  6. I wouldn't turn much of anything down if someone else was eating/serving it. But I wouldn't just go out an buy/make just anything.
  7. Interesting you should post about this. We went Wednesday. this was a spoke reel made from a bicycle rim. About 1920's if i remember correctly. Some vintage lures. a sample of the arrow heads on display. I really enjoyed the facility. It had so much more than I was expecting. These are only some of the things that I found interesting enough to post. Many military items from a helicopter you can explore completely, to a tank along with a HumVee. Cars from all decades in a well kept indoor collection. A video discussing Little Boy and Fat Man along with what I believe were replicas. Even a room with all kinds of torture devices if that is your thing. The rooms were large. The building did not look like much.
  8. Just a couple of the wurst jokes on this thread.
  9. Interesting. I haven't seen any. I would not have been ok to see one either before this article.
  10. Thank you. I was ready to take the deal, but, really no need. You kept me out of the dog house, for now. ....
  11. Good times. Great pictures.
  12. I don't have Venmo, but can send you paypal.. or a cash/ check payment. Or can look up venmo in the morning. I'm interested.
  13. Maybe it's known, Maybe not, but Taneycomo has bait restrictions in certain areas. Just keep that in mind.
  14. Great photos. Nothing to be worried about. He's already occupied.
  15. I have only once been so lucky . A friend and I were fishing a small city pond that must have just been stocked. Almost every cast resulted in a yellow belly catfish aka bullhead. They were fun at first, but after 20 or so, your hands really got to stinking, and almost every single one swallowed the hook. Snelled hooks on a swivel were our saving grace. This was early 90's, we couldn't afford to get film developed. So unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the 8-10 inch monsters.
  16. Religion and Politics are two things that are not able to be discussed in public by most. I know where many others stand, but most have no idea where I do. I used to really enjoy playing both sides of those fences just to see how strong and educated many of my friends and family were. I learned the hard way how that can hurt people in many ways. Things written in text are hard enough to interpret for day to day situations. I don't care to lose more people on here because of hurt feelings. Especially when they may have been/will be mis interpreted. I know that doesn't answer your question. I do hope it helps to keep the site calm.
  17. I know where the carp are, just having a time to get them to take my flies.
  18. https://anglersemporium.com/collections/microfishing is where I bought mine. Looks like I may have gotten the last one. Full disclosure, I've never done business with them before. They were quick to ship and I bought a few items on my ticket. I would use them again. Just a random find.
  19. Well, removed most of the dubbing. The fly was no longer as bulky as it was prior. Hard to really cinch down the thread to lock the material without breaking the hooks. But, as I'm just starting this adventure, I'm sure I will get the hang of it. @JohnsfollyI hope you didn't think I was referring to you as a bum. But the supplier of the materials. And, thank you again for getting me started. I've really been thinking of starting a list, but so far, I just enjoy playing. I do need to get out of.my local area and see what newer fish I can find, and that just may begin my list.
  20. Yes sir. Got them from a BUM. Found a neat little display tank. Success, but this guy demolished my fly.
  21. Curious about what are the smallest flies you have seen, or tied. I have been playing and here are a few I've tied for microfishing. The bare hook is a size 14 fly tying hook. I dipped this in Flyagra. Seems to get it off the bottom and create a suspending fly. Just toying around with ideas and trials.
  22. I told one of the kids' mom, "When I was their age, all I wanted was to see and hold the fish. I guess I never grew out of it"
