  1. i wondered that same thing but I don't think jellyfish would have much nutrient value. Like nature's plastic grocery bag. But who knows maybe huge bass eat em by the hundreds ha!
  2. I have been. Seems like lately my frustration has been getting the best of me. I've had plenty opportunities to get out and missed quite a few and when I have it's been 1-2hours of snags, lost lures, errant casts, and line tangles. Then I get frustrated and give up. I've also been trying too many new techniques that I'm unfamiliar with. Sometimes I think I need to just go fishing. That's when I do best and have good days.
  3. Biggest spotted bass of my life. 1 pic...pants falling down. :/
  4. Its a target species deal, ive caught some very nice bass while walleye/crappie fishing, and just thought "darn another green one".
  5. That's a heck of a fish!!
  6. Same here on the DS but i dont think ive ever caught a gil on a spoon. Normally i use a 3/4 or 1oz spoon though. Thats an interesting pattern there will the smaller jigging spoons. I fish spoons alot, and will def try my luck at bluegill fishing with em, i bet you get the bigger ones of the school that way.
  7. This is a truly incredible gesture. As a father of a child with a chronic illness (not cancer) I'd like to say thank you for doing this. Your absolutely correct with the struggle that families go through. Gestures from strangers such as this, big and small are not soon forgotten. I remember once a year ago when tragedy struck our family. My wife and I were sitting at a dennys drinking coffee and eating lunch. My wife was in quietly crying the whole time. When we were leaving our waitress said it was all paid for. I couldn't believe it. The waitress said the people who paid didn't wanna be identified they just wanted to help. As we were walking out my wife noticed a kid about 13 with his mom driving away making eye contact. They had just paid. The mom said from the window "I hope things look up for you guys soon" I'll never forget that......sorry for the rant long story longer....thanks for posting this. It's great! cool jigs too.
  8. You caught small sunfish with a spoon?
  9. One of about a million reasons why I think carpet on a fishing boat is dumb. Incredible video though.
  10. how bout that for what to do? From a guide no less. Now you gotta post pics of your lad with a big ole smallie and an even bigger grin. Good luck have fun, be careful outta the kayak.
  11. I wonder just how many will make it to keeper size or bigger? I tried walleye fishing the kimberling area this summer a bit and only got 2 fish. One was 21 or 22 inches the other was only like 15.
  12. I can't imagine a 100# fish at the end of my line, would be almost scary. I also can't imagine how horrible a 100# catfish must taste.
  13. Also....casting rods for reasons i dont understand are very hard to find in 2pc, whereas almost every spinning rod ive come across has a 2pc counterpart.
  14. I do break rods often....so all of mine are two piece...actually i have 1 7ft 1pc rod left (fingers crossed). I would imagine that a 1pc rod is probably more sensitive or something, and i guess people have had issues with them separating. I havent noticed a lack of sensitivity, and ive never had them come apart. Other than that I dont know of any other disadvantages. That said...if you dont break em, and dont need them compact/portable then go with a 1 piece.
  15. Still don't understand where that oxygen came from if there is none above it for 100ft? The temperature isn't suddenly out of pattern? I didn't know that there was another thermocline 130 ft deep...cool. I'm gonna need some heavier spoons lol
  16. Any ideas why it spikes again around 130?
  17. Awesome report! Never thought about bass fishing twain before great fish!
  18. Totally agree. It's all about what you have confidence in.
  19. Yup...color doesnt matter at all just so long as there is some purple in there.
  20. Yup...go bluegill fishin...your likely to catch some giants, and have actual success.
  21. This is an odd one...but i tried for the first time ever a jig n pig type lure. Ive never used a traditional skirted jig with a craw trailer before, this year i gave it a shot. Been using a nutech 1/2oz jig, with a rage craw trailer and custom skirts. I certainly have not have much success with it, but caught a few to keep it interesting. Funny that its what most people learn to fish with, but something ive never even considered until my cousin taught me an embarrassing lesson ill never forget (his jig vs my wacky worm). Now i desperately wanna learn it better.
  22. Those two in the middle are hogs though. Poor fishing ethics for sure.....but they were on some nice ones. They do look like they been layin in the sun too long.....gross.
  23. Guys....its almost bow season, i bet he was just scouting.
  24. I like Jefferson lake....I think the FoPo lakes get overlooked a bit. Ive never caught them on a jig there before, but occasionally they will go crazy for a spook (today in fact on my lunch break caught a few). Id say 1 outta 5 times i go ill catch something, but when they do bite, i usually catch more than one. I think that if i could get up early and fish for a few hours id do better. 45min at high noon is not the best deal.
  25. Whats the reason you dislike it?
