We were visiting friends in Scottsdale this weekend and went to the Barrett-Jackson sale on Friday. Apparently the really expensive cars are sold on Sunday, but we saw several Chevelle SS's, old Vetts, Mustangs...all go for over $100k. I didn't see it, but was told one of those old gas pumps went for $50k+. I'm not really a car guy, but these guys put on an amazing show. The auction part is just one piece of it. Highly recommended.

Some of y'all are so unoriginal. "Our sires' age was worse than our grandsires'. We, their sons, are more worthless than they; so in our turn we shall give the world a progeny yet more corrupt." Book III of Odes, Horace...20 BC I have 3 successful adult kids and 1 HS Senior that's going to KU next year. All were better kids in HS than their dad. My youngest son's friend group is full of smart, polite, nice kids. Yeah, they like to smoke a little weed, as it's readily available, but I don't see near the alcohol consumption that was rampant in my HS days.

Who knows...day I got divorced was one of greatest days of my life. Nice looking boat. Hoping it works out for Bobby.

Appreciate it Wrench. Electricity not my strong suit but will give it a try. If you haven't already, you need to get the software to diagnose these newer etecs. There's a market for someone GOOD to work on them.

If all else fails...read the manual. Will do.

Haven't had a what's wrong with my motor thread in a while. I bought this boat and motor in 2018 w/ about 90 hours on it. It's done this since day 1. I turn the key, the motor seems to go thorough a startup process where the tach spins to the peg and back to zero, and then it cranks. Takes 5-6 seconds for it to finish thinking about cranking. Then it cranks and starts on the first hit. Does this every time. Has never failed to start and runs like a champ...once it decides to crank. Starting battery fully charged and showing 13v's on the dash. Any ideas?

"won over 1/4 million this year" Pfffft... Wrench does better than that and doesn't have to leave the house. -

Another fly fishing boat
Gumboot replied to rumrunner's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
No. He sold the old fly fishing boat. The new one is an Express. C'mon...you gotta keep up. -
My neighbor has a water garden with a nice little waterfall. He stocks it with goldfish every year. It's very secluded, set back in a corner of his yard amongst a grove of pines. How the heron's find it is beyond me, but he sometimes has to restock mid summer.

Realizing the answer is "depends"... can I run a lund 1875 pro v bass on Tanney? -
Math wasn't my best subject, and I must be reading that wrong. 1 hour 23 minutes 8 seconds to go 250 miles?

Some of the most reasonable boat rentals I've seen is on the rivers, Tanney, White... You don't need a lot of boat, you don't need fancy electronics, and fish are imminently more catchable than on a big reservoir, my opinion. Boats are an expense and, for the most part, a luxury. Only you can decide if it's worth it to you and your family.

Anyone Else Having a Rough Go of it?
Gumboot replied to Chirp Chirp's topic in General Angling Discussion
I'm not much of a fly fisherman, but I have a cheap posterior 5 wt that I keep a black or olive wooly booger tied on all the time. You have a hard time not catching something in the local ponds if you let them sink and strip it back slow. -
3 species of longear sunfish, and possibly 6.
Gumboot replied to Quillback's topic in Conservation Issues
You sir are incorrect. They're all over the South. Maybe it's the spelling throwing you off. In MS many spell it "Brim". Does that help? -

More people will see it online in 2 days than will uptown in two months. I know it can be a PIA, but I've had good luck with this site and craigslist. Take some pictures and post it on here...you might be surprised. Just assume that everyone that contacts you is trying to cheat you...and you'll be good. -
I was a sophomore in college in 1979 and had a little 14' Arkansas Traveler jon boat with a 9.9 Evinrude that I would take to the local lakes. No trolling motor, just a sculling paddle and a cushion. One early spring, rainy Saturday morning, I was fishing Horseshoe Lake, just South of West Memphis, and dipping jigs among the cypress trees for crappie. The lilly pads were just coming out in an area called Happy Jack. I saw a fancy aluminum tracker with 3 guys hootin and hollerin and catching fish on almost every cast. There were very few boats out that miserable morning. As they came near me I asked, very politely, what are you guys catchin? Whereupon one guy turned, he had on a big TN hat, and held up a pretty good shellcracker. He asked me if I was catching anything and I told him I had a few crappie. They trolled over by me, he ripped a card of black roadrunners in half, and threw them in my little jon boat. Told me to throw to the edge of the lily pads and slowing reel it back. I caught a bunch. That guy could have been fishing anywhere he wanted, but he was on a little MS river oxbow, in the rain, having a blast catching bream. Been a fan of his ever since.

https://gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/ The states you will be travelling have the lowest gas prices in the nation. AR/MS/LA all below $3.15 per gallon. Guess anything could happen but I'll take the unders on $3.50 in April. You should go. It'll be fun.
