    I don't mind fishing in the dark if I am familiar with the water. Haven't done hardly any fly fishing in the dark. Too worried about my back cast (which gets me in trouble even when I can see ). Also you never know what you are going to get into when you go meet some guy from an internet fishing forum at a tailwater at night to try for a brown trout .

    @JestersHK congrats buddy! I hope to have a similar success after a similar package shows up in the mail today ! Hoping for more temperate bass action than those pond sunfish. But am happy catching anything willing to tug on my lines.

    Congrats Marty and Mrs! This year will be a challenge to learn some new spots out here and figure out when to go. Will post any that we find.

    Jeff you have got to get tired of all that fishing. You should go get a part time job to keep from getting bored buddy😁! Just kidding. Would love to be able to get out as often. Keep posting those reports so that us desk jockies have some break time reading material and photos to dream about.

    When I used to fish around Columbia I would get out in the evening to bank fish for crappie. As soon as the sun went below the tree tops and the wind laid down it was usually game on. Typically I would be limited on how many fish I could catch by the time it took to reel them in and stringer or release the next one. Congrats on catching a bunch!

    I agree that it would have been hard to release that fish. Likely would have beached that fish or used it as fertilizer.

    That last one was likely a creek chub if it had that black spot on the front of the dorsal fin.

    Congrats DJ on a great brown trout. Definitely a great fish to break in the refurbished net my friend! Only wish was that I had been your net man on that brownie. Maybe next time I am in town .

    Still look like southern redbelly dace to me for most of them. Did they all have the second stripe? Did that large one have a black spot on the front of its dorsal fin?

    The fish look like they might be southern redbelly dace. Hard to tell from the photo.

    @Daryk Campbell Sr the closest that I could come up with in Missouri is a young western slimy salamander. An adult is pictured below.

    Congrats guys! Where were you guys fishing? Looks like a great time. Looks like some species of salamander but not one that I am currently familiar. Will have to do some research.
