  1. Congrats to your daughter on her personal best (albeit first) smallie😁! Nithing better than the excitement that a kid has when they feel that tug on the line and the smile when they hold their first fish! I hope that there are many more firsts for you guys in the future and many more fish😁.
  2. Nice Largemouth. Congrats to your PB!
  3. Looks great @trythisonemv! I hope that there are still a bunch of chants around when I get back to MO on the 13th. I'm in a suite for the week and can make my own meals. So would like to have some chants and eggs, steak, etc..
  4. Never have any problem with some farm pond bass management . Congrats! Looks like a fish fry in the making.
  5. My friend has peach and apricot trees and the squirrels never let the fruits get this far along.
  6. We were coming back from Delaware three four weeks ago and stopped at a produce stand that had a large selection of vegetable, herb, and flowering plants for sale. Looking at the dill plants Livie spotted some swallowtail caterpillars. So we ended up buying the pots that had the critters. There was a total of four caterpillars and they all became chrysalises. So far she has released one male and two female black swallowtails . Hopefully the last swallowtail will emerge soon from its chrysalis. Thankfully Livie hasn't begun scouring the milkweed plants along the road for monarchs. Though that may be in our future.
  7. Good luck. We lived in Columbia so Hazel creek was close enough. I have only fished Pomme once and saw a giant (42+") come out from a dock and look over our baits, but no interest. Only had four encounters that day and no hook-ups. I haven't caught a pike yet, but have been bit by the musky bug and will hound a friend of mine to take me if I get a chance to get back out to MO this Sep/Oct.

    What's Cooking?

We don't have this option . So I mix and knead by hand. I have never tried some of those ultrafine Italian flour. Can't find those readily around here.

    What's Cooking?

Looks good @ness! Love to eat homemade pasta. Just don't make it often enough to be really good at it. Or at least good enough for it to not be a bit of a chore.

    What's Cooking?

Marinaded boneless chicken thighs. Oil, rice wine vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, kickin chicken spice mix, sesame oil. Grilled and served with baked beans. Simple but good😁.
  11. Nice bluegill! That had to have been a fun trip. Congrats!
  12. Actually would be a great time to find that hidden structure along the banks.
  13. All that sculpin habitat high and dry. So sad😢. Hope that the water comes up soon.
  14. Velcro would suck. Bring back button fly jeans!

    What's Cooking?

Put that on toast and add another slice of toast and you have a club sandwich😁. Of course some swiss cheese would go a long way as well.
  16. Sweet smallie! Congrats to the little lady! Hope that she grabs your gear more often to tangle with much bigger river smallies😁!
  17. Never leave fish to find fish😁. Nice crappie!
  18. Looks good! Hopefully you get a many years out of that paint job.
  19. I'm a bit of a breast man my self😁. Really enjoy Irish single malts.
  20. Nice photos @Flysmallie! Would like to see him catch a musky on a fly in MO. Though I am glad to see someone catch something on your trips 😁. Has he ever tried Henry Sever or Hazel Creek lakes in the fall?
  21. Haven't caught many walleye. did catch my PB down at Taney with @JestersHK
  22. I didn't mention any names😁.
  23. Used to be the only bait and technique that I would use for bass in NY, CT and PA. Loved fishing them at night. The sound of an unseen bass sucking in a topwater is incredible. Didn't start fishing plastics and jigs until I went to college. Fish WTD baits in current and poppers in still water.
  24. Good luck Devan! I appreciate that I have influenced the way that you want to fish. It is addictive. I used to fish for just bass, sunfish, crappie, trout and would fish the same spots the same times of year year after year. I was kind of jaded. I always kept track of different species that caught. In 2009 I read in Bassmaster of guys going to catch all of the black bass species at that time. That looked interesting. I found that the majority could be caught in Georgia. My dad lived in GA at the time. So I researched spots to fish when I went with my family to visit. Before going I caught a 17 inch smallmouth on an excaliber spit n image WTD bait in MO. I had caught a spottrd bass with that bait earlier. I used that same bait and caught a northern largemouth, shoal bass, and a redeye bass in GA. I had hoped to catch all species with that one bait but lost it in GA😢. Later that week I fished in FL and missed a couple of suwannee bass in FL that I still need to catch. I haven't gone after the guadelupe in Texas. Now they have added four more redeye species as well as the choctaw bass. So I have more work to do to catch them all. Back in MO I began a quest to catch a trout in each of the designated trout waters including the "wild" trout streams to the trout parks. Drove well over 2000 miles to get that accomplished. Goals became a big part of my fishing. Targeting multiple species began in earnest in 2014. Microfishing began in 2016 when I figured out how to catch darters in a creek in Columbia. I continue because it is a great way to catch a high number of species as well as a way to fish more creeks, ponds, lakes, etc. It allows me to bond with my daughter who likes to catch the little fish. Since 2014 I have caught 74 new life list species. With travel for work I get to fish the east coast as well as the midwest. So the tracking states with fish caught just works for me. I love the research in field guides or internet to confirm species or research areas to fish for target species. I have met a few guys that help me a lot on confirmation of species. I have some guys that won't count fin rays or lateral line scales. So they send me photos to give my opinion of what they have caught. I am willing to help where I can with folks that want to microfish or find new species.
  25. I like catching them as well. Longest was over 24 inches, but that was in PA. Only caught them in the 11 pt in MO. Could have caught them on a Current river trip but focused on other species.
