    What's Cooking?

You should be able to find a similar pizza on most corners of big cities 🀣
  2. He does that pretty much to all of usπŸ˜…
  3. Feels that way here too Dave πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…
  4. I am great at multitasking! I can waste time,, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time!🀣 Apparently I snore so loudly that it scares everyone in the car I am driving!🀣 I started out with nothing! And I still have most of it! 🀣
  5. I seemed to have some more success with using red hooks on the front of my jerkbaits for brown trout. Using red hooks (either trebles or single EWG hooks with plastics) for bass didn't seem to make a noticeable difference.
  6. I was going to start wearing these to the office, but am rethinking thisπŸ˜‚
  7. That works too πŸ˜‰
  8. I know guys that say that if you're not afraid of handling your broadheads when bowhunting that they aren't sharp enoughπŸ˜‰. Similar principle.
  9. I'll be honest that only this morning have I read through most of the posts on this thread. I had a feeling where this could go and basically avoided it for a few days. However, I have now looked at a lot of the comments made and it makes me think of why folks have children. Over the years you hear of people saying that they would never bring a child into such a bad world. I have always felt that is the point of having children in order to make positive changes. Influence your children to treat people better or to try and make little differences with their lives. I feel the same way about contributing to this forum. If you felt any connection with this forum or people in it but don't like the negative posts or feedback then post more uplifting content. Lurkers contribute little. Make it better by being committed to it. I post a lot of off fishing topic materials either because it is an interest of mine or it's a dad joke that may only be funny to me (and possibly @Daryk Campbell SrπŸ˜‰). I don't do a lot of bass or trout fishing much anymore or fish that much in Missouri. However, I still post a lot of trip reports that deal with various species. I hope that they are interesting for folks. I get grief for catching bait with my microfishing. I still post that content anyways since it is my interests and maybe folks on here have never heard about or seen some those species. Even though not as popular as other fishing or I didn't catch it with a flyrod, I feel that it is a positive contribution to this forum. Oh and I am also not a big fan of grits unless it is shrimp and grits.
  10. @Quillback congrats on some successful fishing!

  12. Maybe this was posted previously. Just saw it today. https://people.com/pets/bee-czar-discovery-channel-bee-rescue-show/
  13. I moved a lot as a kid. I was always the smallest kid in my class. So I fought a lot. Going to a new school I sought out the bully and fought him. He would either beat me up or I could hold my own. Either way he would leave me alone.
  14. That is a slab! Congrats!
  15. I have never been to an opener at any of the trout parks. I did hit the PA trout openers every year. Lots of people. Folks that camped overnight in the spots you scouted, etc. But with limited numbers being stocked only once or at most a couple of times during the spring, it's a get them when you can situation. In MO most years I would have fished several times for trout outside of the parks and most of the time would have the river to myself.. So I didn't have that same level of "I need to go trout fish" that would get me over the aversion of fishing in a big crowd.
  16. These guys have two really distinct features that separate the two species found somewhat locally, the blue ridge and the potomac. We also have mottled sculpin in MD but only in one river drainage area about 4 hours from us. This species, the blue ridge sculpin, has two pores at the point of the jaw line (two median pores). The potomac has only one pore. The second feature is that the edge of the dark band on the tail is straight. The potomac has a notch in that dark band.
  17. Got a two-fer on Sat. Caught a new lifer that was also a sculpin 😁. Blue-ridge Sculpin! Love that orange in the dorsal fin. Don't know much about these guys but would have to think that this is a male (both pics of same fish). I orginally thought this was a potomac sculpin but had the ranges and the characters switched between the two.
  18. Congrats! You got out and caught some fish. Can't beat that! Actually you did by posting a report and with photos!
  19. No. I don't have a good enough camera. Borrowed it from the other birders watching that bird.
  20. Yesterday had us up in Meyrsville MD to try and spot a painted bunting male that has returned again this year. When we got there it was not to be seen. We struck up a conversation with a birding couple that lives close by. The owner of the yard where this bird frequented for a couple months last year has a large number of feeders including a shelf feeder with a large pile of hulled sunflower kernels. We saw many Goldfinch hitting all of the feeders. They would spook as a grackle or two barged in for the seeds. A couple of house finches visited before the bunting showed himself. We watched him feed and flitter around the yard then he took off for parts unknown. Though maybe 15 or 20 mins it was a cool encounter for sure. Here's a photo from 2021
  21. Pete If I was closer might have considered that pond prowler. We only have a few lakes around us and none are that big. So a little boat like that would work great. Right now the gas to pick up and take it out this way would be way more than the boat itself πŸ™„
  22. He'd be called tripodπŸ˜….
  23. A couple have been married for 50 years. The husband asks the wife if she had ever been unfaithful to him during their marriage. His wife responds, "Don't ask me that after all this time together. You don't want to know." The husband says that he does want to know. And asks how many times she had been unfaithful. She says,"There were three times." He asks when."Remember when you were 35 and needed a loan to start your business but no bank would give you the loan. Then one day the bank Manger came to the house for you to sign the loan papers." The husband replied what a great wife she was for helping to launch his business which he was able to build to support their family over the years. He asks when was the second time. "Remember when you needed heart surgery but no surgeon would do the operation due to our lack of insurance. Then that young surgeon agreed to perform the operation." The man replied that the surgery saved his life and how wonderful of a wife she was to get him that operation. So when was the third time. His wife responded, "Remember when you wanted to be president of your fishing club and you just needed 97 votes to win." 🀣
  24. Good luck buddy on getting up your strength up and getting on the water. Can't wait to see the fish you are going to catch!
