  1. What model is the one with the red wrap?
  2. Nice snag. Got 2 myself “spinning” that i use occasionally.
  3. What did ya get?
  4. Focusing on just the Springfield area, or adjoining towns as well? Good luck with the venture. Always great to step out on your own. I have done it over 20 years, while working for “the man” as well. Left that gig a few years ago to continue what i enjoy. Remember for every bad day, there will be 2 good days. AND, the freedom of being your own boss is unreal.
  5. Hey Dan. Im just needing the ducer to hook to my 12”. I can pick one up for $100, but thought i would check here first.
  6. I had that same thing happen with a member on this site. Found one of his baits on Bull Shoals, posted it here, and after talking to him, i received something like almost 40 baits he painted in the mail. True respect for guys like that. Still think about him every time i catch a fish on one of his baits.
  7. If it was spring, and warmer, i would have you bring it and we could do it in my shop. I have done 6 or 7 aluminum boats, and 3 glass boats. Not a big task with yours, just time consuming. If you do it yourself, i can give ya a hand.
  8. Dutch, not according to the lake info site. Lots of 3+ spots tho.
  9. Quill, being over pressured was one of my concerns on considering that lake. I spoke to a guy i met online that lives in the area, and fishes it weekly. He mentioned that on most days from September thru the end of May, he may see 4 to 8 bass fisherman per day. He said most guys focus on the spotted bass there, as they are not a fixture in the west texas lakes. He gave me a few suggestions on the whats/whens/wheres for my timeframe, so I’m feeling good about it. He said he would be surprised if I didn’t land 50 to 60 bass daily, with a few in the 5lb and bigger range. We plan to stay at a resort close to the lake, so i should be able to get in 8 hours of fishing daily. Still considering my other options, but Alan Henry is looking good.
  10. Thanks for the info guys. Awesome that these posts bring back memories for some. I originally had planned a mid-Feb. trip, so was looking for a lake with an earlier spawn down south. Im now looking to push that back to the last week of March. Reading lots of past articles online, i think i have narrowed it down to Rayburn for the size of the lake, and the quality, and Fork which i have been to several time due to family close by, and the chance of flipping that creature bait next to a stump and hooking a bruiser. Yesterday i had a buddy that lives in Austin mention a little sleeper lake that peeked my interest. So online i go, spending 2 hours last night reading about it, past reports, etc. which really got me pumped. Tho a really small body of water at 2880 acres, and a max depth of 100’, i’m hesitant to spend 4 or 5 days on such a small body of water. My buddy Jason said I wouldn’t regret the trip. So, anyone heard of or fished Lake Alan Henry outside of Lubbock? It has a 15lb lake record, punching out 9lb plus constant.
  11. Anyone have a Structure Scan 3D module and possible LSS2, or even LSS1 ducer stored away they don’t need? HDS Gen 3
  12. Yes sir it is. Name change due to being an all boat club now.
  13. Great group of guys. Check us out on FB.
  14. Planning my 2021 Texas fishing trip, and trying to decide on what lake to fish. Those i can rule out as i have fished are: Texoma, Lewisville, Fork, Ray Roberts. Im thinking either Amistad or Rayburn. Read some good stuff about Caddo, especially the scenery. Any of you guys been to those, or maybe another suggestion? My goals are to fish for big bass. Roughly a 4 to 7 day trip.
  15. Did you remove the lettering to do the repairs?
  16. Lots of lurkers here, and a few posters fish yak tournaments. There are a few series/clubs that fish some of the local lakes. Im a boat guy, but some of our club members fish the yak stuff too
  17. Really unlimited choices depending on your preference. I was going to add a unit to my yak this summer, and did lots of research. For me, the setup JD mentioned was what i settled on. Easily movable, secure, and no alterations needed. I could move it to any point on the yak. I will still end up doing it this spring im sure. I got a suction cup for my Go-Pro and will alter that to run the ducer on.
  18. There were a couple of times this year i wish i had spot lock, but 90% of my time the Fortrex does exactly what i need. That 112 trust does its job too. Im a foot pedal guy, so anything with a remote would probably just frustrate me.
  19. Just a guess i would say $350 to $400 looking online at used ones. Lots of guys selling for the newer units, so lots of choices for a Fortrex. I have the 112lb model.
  20. There are several guys on FB that makes panels for all boats. If you don’t have Facebook let me know and i can get ya info.
  21. Cool idea. Hot drinks and cold drinks. See which holds temp longer.
  22. My Merc. did the same. If it was not atleast 3/4 full, as soon as i got on plane and trimmed up, that stupid alarm would go off. Shut it off, trim down, and good to go. I learned to keep it full.
