  1. My cuz Brandon swore this was a huge brownie for the first few minutes down below the dam. Then I finally saw it and bust out laughing. Still a great catch on two pound test though.
  2. Wish you could of at least caught a glimpse of the fish Phil... There be sea monsters in the lake for sure!
  3. Yay! Sounds like a great trip in the making. Can't wait, and you guys be safe traveling.
  4. All my travels this upcoming year will likely be out east in PA, NY, and NJ so hopefully I can make a detour and swing out your way buddy! And @Seth I'm gonna wish ya luck on dethroning Doty, your gonna need lots of it! Hopefully we can get back down there again soon and get those 20in browns together.
  5. So I ended this year on a high note at Taneyfest... For next year not sure what I'm gonna do... Technically I still need a 20in brown along with @Seth Definitely would like to meet more members and fish with them. Going to try to catch a trout in a few more different states this year if I can. I fished taneycomo at least 1 time every month this year chasing sea monsters. Hopefully I can repeat or best that as well. Really just hope I can spend as much time as possible in the outdoors with friends and family. I feel most alive in the woods or water.
  6. Nice job man! Some beautiful smallies there. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Feel better soon stinger! I'll have to think about my goals...
  8. Daryk I have some Orvis booties that I use while wet wading the creeks with my wading boots. They keep the sand and muck out of my feet, but if you go in over the top they will allow water in. I usually just submerge my feet from the get go and get it over with...
  9. To Duane's evidence above I'll say I fish them more while wading than I ever have from a boat. I also can say I've fished them more at night than during the day.
  10. Way to get it done buddy! Sure seems like allot of smallies are hanging out up there. Glad you all put a hurting on them. Pretty bows too!
  11. I've yet to have a bad or gamey tasting Elk meal... I'm sure that its possible, but I've yet to run across it and my experience matches yours as it was more like a lean beef. Good eats indeed.
  12. I use 10lb spiderwire green ultra smoothe exclusively for throwing jerkbaits at night on a spinning setup. I direct tie to the lure using a palomar knot and I have never had a knot slip or line break. The extra feel and the lack of stretch give me great hooksets on smaller rods. I'll fish braid too in the daytime, but theres the whole line visibility thing to deal with. For that reason I'll usually switch back to mono. Catch rates for me are less during the day but theres also other factors that contribute to that.
  13. That looks like an awesome mixed bag and a great day on the water. Nice job.
  14. Got some slabs there buddy.
  15. Congrats and welcome. Thanks for sharing your report.
  16. Thanks for the info man. Glad to see the. 270 performing as when I finally do it, that is probably what I'll roll with.
  17. I got my little ones birthday on February 3rd, but I'm in for March 1st weekend.

  22. This really is a special place... Truly grateful for all the friends and fishing buddies I've met through here. And you're right Marty the talent beyond just some amazing fishing skills is really remarkable.
  23. I'm down, and depending on dates I'll ask my usual buddys. I really only have the 8th and 15th weekends... February is a tough month with birthdays and family stuff.
  24. Something something Walter got your tongue lol You guys crack me up. Congrats again on what looked like an awesome adventure. With all that fish wisdom in one spot, surprised those walters didn't just jump right in the boat! Ears were only partially burning here... lol
