Having a Pontoon with a 40 be aware you'll probably not be able to cruise above 20 MPH and probably closer to 15. Most older pontoons were woefully underpowered.
I've been using the Sunline Sniper #7 for years on my straight fluorocarbon spinning setups. Got a 15 pound flathead that ate a drop shot out of a tree with it, figured if it's good enough for that, it's good enough.
All I'll say is I'm still fishing almost every Shimano reel I've ever bought, back to the original green 200s and the original Castaic flipping reels. I do have a couple that now donate parts to maintain others, since parts have become no longer available for the older models.
It looked like a regular goldfish, in coloration and body shape. Fishing a bluff end and saw something in the water just under the surface, eased up to see what it was, goldfish very round, way bigger than a softball looked almost volleyball size.
Crap, I got an order I wanted to pick up tomorrow, just came in today, had prior appointments for today.. Guess I'll return it and have anything I need shipped to the house, it would have been here be for now.
Looks like I screwed up, got an order to pickup at store that's taking longer than expected to come in. Hope it gets here in the next few days. No way am I paying to enter BPS, unless they are giving Stella's away.
Used them all the time when I first retired back here in the 90's. Usually fished them in a light rocker head, single wire hook weed guard. Either slowly dragging or very small hops. Some days it seemed to catch them better than a jig or tube. Don't know why the fell out of my rotation, I've still got a lot in storage. I'm sure they will get you bit. Looks like you got good colors there.
I can vouch for the awesome Snook and Tarpon in the Tampa area. From what I understand the snook have actually greatly improved since the time I fished for them.
France gets 80% of it's power from nuclear already. I think the waste problem is overblown, using current technology, and there are now several proposed new plants. Really no way to generate the power, plus all the additional that will be required without it. Don't get me started on the real reason WHY I think the current rush is on to end fossil fuel. (It ain't climate)
