  1. Well I've been floating a stretch for years. One that float pressure has blown up on in the past several years. You can barely get down it on a summer weekend. It also has it's fair share of otters. The fishing is as good right now as it's been in the last 25 years. I'm not saying the otters can't create issues on smaller rivers but they are hardly a death sentence to a body of water. And I actually think that all the floating has helped the fishing. Nobody wants to fish in all that mess. So the fish are not targeted. And if a fish grows up with boats floating over him his entire life it's not going to bother them.
  2. Don’t get a Democrat. They are just as bad as Republicans.
  3. Shouldn’t you be wearing safety glasses? Or does your mask make the lenses fog up?
  4. That wasn't Burt Reynolds, that was Turd Ferguson.
  5. Blasphemy. Ants are always deadly. It's not the fly, it's the predator you are offering it too. You take a 3wt and some of those that wrench is modeling down the James and the bluegill will attack those things much more aggressively than some wimp trout trying to sip it off the surface.
  6. Good looking baits. That Gold Strike would be a killer on Pomme de Terre. Those fish have always liked a gold spinnerbait. I ordered a couple to play with.
  7. Or some foam.
  8. Well mine are not cheapies either but I understand being nervous about it. And these are not on Taneycomo where lots of people are around. But a dock with a ride does make things a lot easier.

    Arkansas!

I rarely watch college football but watched most of that one. We were actually in Fayetteville on Saturday. My youngest daughter wanted to visit the campus and surrounding area to see if that's where she wants to go next year. Nobody told me it was gameday down there. But she enjoyed all of it and then when we arrived home we got to see the game. If I would have known that they had a game that day I would have planned it differently and went to the game.
  10. Chain it to a tree and Uber. I haven’t done the Uber part but I have left kayaks locked to trees, signs, other cars, etc.
  11. I know where I was, I know what I was doing. Years later my dad died on 9/11. Now I just choose to ignore it all. Let me know when it’s the 12th.
  12. Seriously, I do like divers but haven't fished one much in a long time outside of wiggle minnows. Honestly I haven't been targeting bass much with a fly rod in quite some time. That's going to increase though. It's just too much fun. And I feel I'm getting a bit better at casting while sitting on a kayak. Just need more practice days.
  13. So here’s the…..uhhhh……RRHP? Or if you want to go with the trendy names plus the people names we can call it Mitch’s Muff Muncher?? It’s really just a fancy gurgler.
  14. I've been in worse on Stockton. I was smart enough to have my life jacket on.
  15. And by the way, I do like these. I need to try that.
  16. I don't think most of these people actually named a fly after themselves as much as other fisherman have named them after the original tier. But fly names are dumb. The really good flies don't even have names. I tied one Saturday night that was just what I came up with from the materials that happened to be on my desk at the time. First fish on Sunday was a 16 inch spot. Caught a bunch of little smallmouth on it and then ended up letting a larger spot have it after I got overly excited and busted him off. That fly will never have a name. Or maybe it will be the RRHP (Ronnie's River Hopper Popper).
  17. And I know how to fix one with a pencil!!!
  18. That sucks Ham. If I didn't think she would clash with the two I have I would already be on my way to get her.
  19. Always has had some good fish in it.
  20. Love the tshirt Mr. Bigs
  21. Plier hog
  22. Don’t know. Wasn’t there. But i have read comments on some neighborhood app and there are a lot of Karens in Springfield. Dude said he saw it come from the back of his house over the front. Was it even a drone that had a camera? We don’t know because he wasn’t man enough to go find out what was going on. He just whined to the media.
  23. The nails are darn near impossible to get out of most of them. Especially the ones that are only heat treated, which are the ones you want to use. It’s a little tricky at first but we use a sawzall to cut the nails between the boards. Works great once you get the hang of it.

  25. One of the best uses I ever found for them was searching new water. Should I wade up river or down river?? I’ll just send the drone up and see which way looks best. Is this a good spot to camp for the night or is there a better spot around that bend? It was also extremely useful when fishing a beach. I could send it up and immediately see the spots to focus on.
