  1. I can't believe Wrench has control of the checkbook. She must just let you carry it around.😃
  2. When I think corrosion I think of what saltwater does to metal. Is that the corrosion you speak of or just rash from usage and getting bounced around?
  3. Dang. Wish I'd of seen those. Heck of a deal.
  4. Just use your single spins Doug
  5. Hate to say it, but the glory boys have no more right to a spot than you do. Whoever is there first controls the spot. It would cost them a couple of rods at a minimum for me to just leave a spot. It is called common courtesy. Playing for pay makes them no better than anyone else.

    What's Cooking?

Eaten there a couple times after duck hunting. Good prime rib.
  7. Hey Wrench - Would you use 3/4 inch square tubing? How long a span can I go without using vertical supports? Planning on using 1/8 inch aluminum sheet for the floor.
  8. I am a bouncer as well and use SDRs that I tie myself using 10# flouro. I should probably upgrade my electronics but have done well with what I have. I usually only get to Stockton for 4-5 days per year so I definitely need more time on the water down there. Points, humps, and channel breaks are my usual target areas. Although I have found the walleye stacked in some spots that meet none of the above criteria. Haven't figured out why they are there, just that they are.
  9. Currently using a wood frame and plywood deck installed in 2001. Treated the plywood but some areas have separated and started to rot. 95% of the framing still good. Trying to figure out if an aluminum deck and framing is worth the effort. I don't weld so I have to figure out how to connect the aluminum square tubing to make the frame. I've seen plastic elbows and T's on line for tubing but have no idea on the durability. Plywood compartment lids were east to make, hinge, and install but are coming apart where the screws went into the laminated layers. Would have to figure out a way to frame an aluminum lid or just buy lids. Anyone with experience going to all aluminum?
  10. I could write for hours on the things I saw mostly good, some bad, and plenty that would leave you shaking your head in amazement. Ten year anniversary of that beast on Friday. I also recall all the hoopla over Obama coming to make an appearance while there was a gunman at the college trying to kill his ex. Talk about a scramble drill. With all the good that was done and all the goodwill there were also those trying to profit from the disaster, looters, scrappers, price gougers, unaffected folks claiming to have lost it all to get free stuff. Still way more good than bad. It definitely changed my views on living each day cause it could be your last.
  11. Looks like way too much fun. I always get "invited" to help folks move, but it never includes fishing.
  12. Helped in the cleanup in Stockton. Spent several days at the main firehouse in Joplin cooking meals for the first responders after the Joplin tornado. A group of outdoors folks banded together and fed three meals a day to all the responders. Many folks and companies donated time, equipment, and money to make it all happen. I'll never forget the destruction I saw or all the outpouring of help for those who lost so much.
  13. When "weaving" in and out how do you ascertain the depth your bait is at?

    What's Cooking?

Homemade tots are a PITA. Never again. Sticking with Ore-Ida
  15. Negative Ghost Rider. Fish count won't matter.
  16. A fella couldn't get a word in edgewise with Doug and Wrench in the boat. Heck, not sure Wrench will get many words in. 😀
  17. Very nice on both pics.
  18. Hmmm. Something to think about for duck hunting. Wet carpet can get slick as well when below freezing. Not sure how well it would hold up to muddy boots and gravel in boot treads. I have toyed with making the front deck fully removable, but would have to remove (or disconnect) the trolling motor. Lost a transducer at Grand Pass last year.
  19. Looks good Wench - You have a pic from back to front? Curious how you transition from the front elevation to the main deck. Would you put it on vertical surfaces? Would is be slippery when wet without the grooves?
  20. Can't call this an accident. Hunter failed to positively identify his target and what was behind his target prior to shooting. Heard tell he was attempting to shoot a flying bird. Still no excuse.
  21. Will the delay adversely impact their reproduction?
  22. That due to water level wrench?
  23. My first question would be, how much moss have you eaten to know the taste? No doubt hatchery trout are not great table fare. They do taste pretty good off the smoker though. I was ruined eating native brook trout from tiny streams in the UP. Their flesh looked salmon like. Amazingly good fish.
