Seriously good eating fish

Plenty of ducks at Grand Pass. Had back to back reservations. Our kill was 50% mallards and 50% others including pintails, greenwings, and a few spoons. Never have found a person that could tell a spoonie on the dinner plate from any other duck. Have heard some say gaddies are unfit for consumption. Other than size of the breast I've never found anyone that could tell a difference. Late season mallards with a heavy layer of fat on the breast do make the best duck bacon.

Chiefs defense was handed several opportunities for turnovers quite literally. Inept quarterbacking for the Patriots and bumbling receivers had nothing to do with the Chiefs defense although they did capitalize on the gifts. NE had several opportunities to turn the Chiefs over. Mahomes was not his usual self. I though the defense was better in the Ravens game as was Mahomes. The Honey Badger is starting to tackle like Deion Sanders.

Chiefs seem to play to their opponents level. Belicheck's defense held the offense in check for the most part. If Cam was playing it could easily have been a loss for the Chiefs. They need to develop an attitude where they try to dominate other teams on both sides of the ball. Packers offense looked much better than the Chiefs offense last night and they were missing their top 2 receivers.

A guy I know went to fish a small lake with his BIL. Stickbait bite was on. BIL got stuck on a bush and gave the old heave ho. Seven of the nine points buried in the ear of the guy I know. BIL made the guy drive himself to the hospital because the fishing was too good to quit.

Way too many people own boats and have no real clue how to operate them safely and have common courtesy for others recreating on the water. Many have little to no respect for the water itself, boat traffic, other's property (docks), or the weather conditions. Add in egos, cell phones, alcohol, twin TV sized electronics n the dash, and any other distractions and it makes for a dangerous situation. As for the testosterone junkies that think they are the next KVD or Wheeler as they fly around the lake in search of tourney fish slow the hell down as you aren't going to actually make money unless you finish first or maybe second. No one cares that you took the last check in a derby and that your expenses exceed your winnings by a factor of 5-10. Prayers for the family of those that lost their life in this tragic accident.

FIL gave me some old tackleboxes full of various lures, hooks, soft plastics, etc. Some of the lures have a whitish film on them I assume from the adverse reaction of soft plastics and old skirt material with the plastic tackle box. What is the best way to clean these baits and remove the whitish film? Those still in their boxes look fine. Never seen so many bombers, hellbenders, and mud bugs. Bass orenos, lucky 13s, torpedos, Big Os, hula poppers, and jitterbugs as well.

I second the "looking for more places to hunt".

I'd throw it. Give it a try and then decide if you want to make more, although you might want a spare.
