  1. I'll keep an eye on it, might go myself.
  2. Word is Wheeler caught a 10 lber today.
  3. Napoleon Dynamite: Grandma just called and said you're supposed to go home.Uncle Rico: She didn't tell me anything.Napoleon Dynamite: Too bad, she said she doesn't want you here when she gets back because you've been ruining everybody's lives and eating all our steak.
  4. Cool, I'll be interested to hear how you do.
  5. I have never seen a blue in TR either. They used to stock them in Beaver, but recently stopped stocking them. Grand lake is another area lake that has excellent fishing for blues.
  6. Wheeler is the day 1 leader at the FLW tourney at Chickamauga. 24 lbs. and change. Couple of guys close to him so it is far from over.
  7. Uncle Rico!
  8. I agree, sure helps to be out there early. Interesting that there were that many tourney fishers on that end of the lake. Tough area to get a bag of big fish to win a tourney.
  9. Don't know the biblical references to slavery myself, but slavery was just about universal throughout the ancient world. We certainly have our issues, but we are so fortunate to be living in the here and now.
  10. Newport gauge is almost at 15, but it looks like they may have started running water out of TR and Bull. Thought they could not 'regulate' until the gauge hit 14. Anyone have any info?
  11. EDIT: Sorry, thought I saw this in the Table Rock forum, so deleted my recommendation of a Hot Spot map.
  12. Well worth a visit:
  13. Nice brown fish, I'll be interested to hear if you see any stripers on top by the dam, haven't been out there in a while.
  14. Isn't there a pyramid in Memphis? We've figured out better ways to build things, that's why we don't duplicate what they did. Heck, you'd be hard pressed to get a building permit for a giant stone pyramid these days.
  15. Several YouTube videos out there on how to skin one.
  16. Yes, I recorded it and have watched the first hour and a half. I was living in Seattle at the time, so didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the NL, but being a baseball fan I kept track of what Sosa and McGuire were doing. Been a baseball fan all of my life and I never will embrace the records that were set during the steroid era. But you are right, those guys were crushing the ball and brought back the fans in the aftermath of the strike.
  17. I wish I would've known about Mark's free tow and haul service this Monday. I took my trailer up to JWM in Reeds Spring to get some work done, took up most of my day, sure would've been great to have Mark do it for me. Hey, I would pay for gas and even give him $10 for lunch somewhere (cheap).
  18. Erasing history is a lot easier than learning from it. People are falling over themselves to be seen as politically correct, wear the ribbon!
  19. Looks to be dropping about a foot per day. https://waterdata.usgs.gov/ar/nwis/uv?site_no=07074500
  20. Reply to this thread with something along the lines of "I am in". Entry fee is a donation to a charity of your choice and any amount you choose. Christian Action Ministries is a great charity to donate to and their web site makes it easy. http://christianactionministries.org/main/
  21. This tournament shall run from 5 PM CT on July 17th to 8 AM CT of the 20th. Same rules as tourney number 1, with one addition. New Rule - I will create a sign up sheet in this forum. You must sign up prior to the tournament start time (5 PM on July 17). As a condition of signing up, we ask for a donation to a charitable organization, in any amount you wish to donate. We have a virtual tourney where you take photo of your bass on a ruler and in short, the longest bass wins. Has to be a black bass, smallmouth, largemouth, spotted bass or a hybrid of these species. I'll open up a thread in this forum where you can submit photos. Make sure you get the full-length of the bass on a ruler. Make sure it's a good photo so the length on the ruler is readable in the photo. Starts Friday at 5 PM Central Time, July 17 and runs until 8 AM Central,July 20th which is a Monday. Photos must be submitted in that time frame in the thread I will open in the Fishing Events Forum. By accepting to participate you agree to be upstanding and honorable in your submission of the picture. Fish must be caught in public waters On photos submitted you must specify body of water, so we can verify that it is a public water. If it is something that you need to keep secret, then we'll accept a PM the judges attesting that it was caught in a waterway open to the public. Gradiations on the ruler must be visible in the photo, and the ruler must cover the entire length of the fish. Also state the length of the fish along with the photo. We will start a thread in this forum before 5 PM on Friday the 17th. In that thread we will specify a number, that number must be included (written on a piece of paper) in the photo of your fish. Also we will start of thread for submission of photos. Artificial lures only. Fish must be live when photographed. Participation is limited to OA members or their spouses and children. Should we have a tie, we'll have a 3 person panel make the call.
  22. Newport gauge is at 23 right now, my reading of the tea leaves is that you'll see quite a bit of low water until it gets down to 14 feet. Beautiful fish!
  23. The C14 isn't listed online now. I agree with ya'll that it is totally bogus to say you have them on sale but have little to no inventory. I have some club points built up, could've had one for about $80 out the door.

    What's Cooking?

I used to marinate salmon fillets in a mix of 1/3 Balsamic vinegar, 1/3 soy sauce, and 1/3 vegetable oil (or any cooking oil), marinate them for about 8 hours. You have to like Balsamic vinegar or don't do this. Works well for steak also.
  25. Ha! Yeah I was on the water in my boat on one of the Bella Vista lakes, wearing a buff, had some people pass by cruising around in a pontoon and I over heard them laughing at me, saying I was by myself wearing mask (they though I was wearing one as a COVID prevention measure), then a couple days later had some gal hollering at me off her deck wondering if I was wearing a 'mask' because I was protesting.
