  1. How big was your fine this time?
  2. Who reads books anymore?
  3. Forgot to try mine last time at Pickwick, was fishing Neko rigged Senkos that day. Need a pic with a big TN smallie on one. May toss one tomorrow on Spring River and try to stoke up a wally eye here.
  4. But 4 strokes are quieter and smoke less........
  5. I have been doing this since 2013. I had went from a single hive to a peak of 19 in a few years. Then the small hive beetle attack of 2016 wiped me out to 3 hives in a few months. The following spring, I had planned to start building numbers again. I had to put that off a year because of the second round of cancer and radiation that followed. The last year has been the best I have so far, wintering 9 out of 10 hives, only losing one. Beekeeping has become a game of how many can you keep going with all of the pest they have that bother them. Varroa mites, small hive beetles, wax moths, and pesticide losses are all new things that plague honey bees. I have been experimenting with new methods and think I have the pests under control so far.
  6. I have split the hives at the farm and put the honey supers on. Later on in July, I will probably break those hives down all of the way and replace the queens and start them out fresh. They have been running on there own for the last few years, the comb is getting pretty old and who knows how old the queens are in the boxes. They have not produced much honey last year and it is time to change things up. A queen is normally only productive for a few years. At the other place, I have been nursing the 3 splits and getting ready for expansion. I went down to feed the splits on Monday and heard a buzzing noise. Noticed a few more bees in the air where there is not normally bees. One of my hives had swarmed, I had a clump of bees about the size of a coffee can on one of the trees at about waist height. Perfect, grabbed a nuc box and a bee brush, then sweeped the clump into the hive. Of course, that made several hundred bees to go airborne, but the queen dropped into the box perfectly and the rest joined her. I put the lid on the box and sit it beside the tree. The remaining bees started flying and walking into the box. Her pheremones were strong that day, I could smell her scent in the air. It was a strong fruity smell. The alarm smell reminds me of bananas, but this was different. That became hive 14. Today I added more honey supers to 3 hives. All of the hives here have younger queens and are stronger. The 2 I bought last year have different genetics than the ones I have been working with from the first and they have better characteristics. Calmer and more intent on making honey. Spring is looking fine for the bees. Too wet for anything else. Can't mow, till garden, or get alot of things done.
  7. Therapy runs more than the tests if you look at the bills.
  8. Trim/tilt on jets are the berries. You can jack the motor up and clean the grates without getting out of the boat. Bottom of motor still sets below the boat line, so trimming it up while drifting helps the float. And, since the foot sets so tight against the boat, trimming it up gives you room to put the plug in. It does not really do much to trim the boat out on plane. And, if there is a cow on the bank, you can do a pump dump to wash it off.
  9. We did a Nitro with a Keelguard a few years back. Two person job makes it easier. We did it on the trailer in storage unit. Still going strong. Take your time and prep the boat as the instructions say. Don't cut corners or rush it.
  10. Shoot the deer or groundhog. Or Mexican immigrant that likes spiced lettuce! Cinc de mayo!
  11. Slowed down pretty quick! Notice how he points the camera at hisself as buddy gets back in.
  12. Oneshot, that wife of yours is a buzzkill. She sure likes to put a damper on all of your fun.
  13. Big Boat. Other states have bigger lakes than ours. Need big boat to handle the waves
  14. Yoga or fishing?
  15. Funny, I never realized they managed Table Rock for bass. I was there last fall and all the fishing shops on the Gravois side had crappie fishing stuff. Could not find a decent Bass Lure in town. You would think it is only Crappie fishing there. Why would they even have a bass tourney?
  16. Did I miss the part where you thought you broke your arm?
  17. I used to tuck my shirts in all of the time until concealed carry came about. Now I let it all hang out. Its alot more comfy than wearing a tucked holster. With my small frame, I don't really have enough to conceal a tucked holster anyway.
  18. Seems to be 2 types now. The guys with full body cover ink who wear nothing but a pair of shorts, and the guys who walk around fully covered like a raped Muslim chick. I thought the raped Muslim chicks were the ones that run around uncovered. Its the ones in the Harem that are fully covered I think. I bought one when the blast of radiation burned the melanin out of my pores. It comes in handy in cold weather since the areas are really cold sensitive. But I usually rub SPf 50 on the face and neck and wear a big floppy hat.
  19. There is a public lake in town by the golf course in town. MDC stocks it with trout in winter. Don't know it's name, but not close to Seminary or Shrine.
  20. Got into a swarm of biting flies today at Lake Wappapello, nasty sobs. Earlobe is swelled up twice normal size, lumps on neck, face, and arms. Only a 20 mph wind would keep them off of me. Fishless day. Could only stand it about 30 minutes. Ended up going for a boat ride.
  21. I was thinking the same thing. Mine rings when I get a call, flashes a little red led when new text or email pops up. Has not really done anything all weekend to distract me. I have it trained well.
  22. Its 4/20. They were looking for dopers.
  23. I was wanting to hit Dale Hollow for Smallies this year.
  24. I tried to explain that one time on here. Thats how all of the smallies get those marks that the giggers get blamed for. In that video, there is at least one trout that got stabbed and got away.
  25. If he had been running a little faster, he may have made it!
