  1. That sewage up there has turned all of your cicadas green?
  2. Its a big lake. How big of a boat do you have? Little boat may be a problem. I would think the upper ends in the skinny stuff would be ok for fishing, or the river below. Boat ramps tend to get crowded fast there from what I have seen. I was there for a weekend for a few years ago, and found that there is not alot of online info around. But it is always worth the trip to explore. My rule of thumb, if its a holiday weekend, find something secluded and hide from the ones that only do it on a holiday any more.
  3. Was by the farm today and they were buzzing everywhere. I could hear them over the mower and muffs on my ears. Could not tell if mower was making noise or bugs. I mowed by one bush and one lit up at my head, I started looking for a rattle snake. Not uncommon to see one on the farm. Really spotty. Camped on Spring River this weekend, you could hear them, but none in camp. Driving along a ridge today between Couch and 11Pt river, bugs flying all over. Marble Hill seems to be a hotspot too.
  4. Up and muddy, crossed it on way to Spring River yesterday. All rivers down here are now.
  5. Hopefully its just your overactive hormones from looking at the pics of that playboy bunny you keep on your phone.....

    Bug ID

Yes you do. But if I had a tongue like that I would have lost the whole arm, not just a chunk...

But, did the seed take? Holstein Human Cross?????
  9. Its a Dodge, probably did not spend much on it.... Could have got a good walker for that kinda money.
  10. Amazing how long it takes them to cure out. Even once they get colored up, still soft like molted crawdads for several hours. Birds having a feast.
  11. Plenty of lizards at farm, gray fence lizards all over in wood. Seen several fat ones ready to lay eggs. A few of the slick skinks too. Never liked them, had them dart in house when you open door.
  12. 50 miles east of the farm near the Mississippi River, nothing.
  13. In the golden years, you don't get to fish. But if you get the 4 on the checklist, you wake up to a new day..... Most forget about the rest by that stage. Oneshot is still on top of his game...
  14. He lays irrigation pipes too....
  15. Drove around the farm and pulling game camera chips. Places had bugs and hulls hanging from every blade of grass and vine. Around the house in the area where I found them yesterday, the bugs had increased 10 fold. Free'd a little bird that had run into the chicken wire trying to get one and got stuck. Hulls all over the ground in the new mowed grass. Seriously thought about gathering a mess of them and seeing how they taste. Most were fresh and still soft from molting. Some said they may taste like shrimp.
  16. Worth looking into. May get the dog crap out of my yard and cats to quit using raised beds for litter box. Don't think it will do much for the local stupid infestation. https://www.thespruce.com/grow-schefflera-plants-inside-1902771
  17. And what is this magic tree? I could spread them all over a local town of fools and see if it solves any problems....
  18. That Fudge from Uranus must have some growing powers. Kinda like manure.
  19. At least in the yard this morning. Birds were chasing something all over the back yard this morning. Did my bi weekly mowing and noticed them all over the place. Wings were still soft, not flying well yet. No noise from them either.
  20. Sex Toys?
  21. I think Crane Creek needs a little publicity. Crowds will bring the tourist dollars into the area and the County will have a surplus. Be sure to post the snakes you found hanging from every tree. Venomous pit vipers all over that area I hear.
  22. You need to keep the neighbors at bay, better go to the HOA. Don't let them run over you and let them rezone you to commercial real estate. Taxes will eat up all the profits.
  23. I like the WorkSharp ones. I have the bench stones and the portable guided field sharpener like one shown above in my vehicle and on my night stand if I need a touch up. Its a great all around sharpener. Even has a piece of leather to finish. I have the Precision Adjust System, but it does not seem natural. I have used it for larger tools like an axe. The angle sharpener with the tri stones is not too bad. I have several Arkansas Tri Stones and some black ones for fine stuff. I prefer them for my better knives. And a few good leather strops to finish them off too. Multiple small dog bone style ceramics for hooks in tackle bags. And a few rods in the kitchen for those knives. I don't own a powered sharpener. Just never had the urge for one. Blades get too beat up, take a grinder to them and work them back in shape.
  24. Nature run amoke.. Last weekend at the farm, I was taking a leak and a hummingbird decided to take a golden shower. Sucker came out of no where and started ducking in and out of the flowing stream. Better than aiming for a cheerio....
