    What's Cooking?

All from scratch, Turkey enchiladas, refried beans and Spanish rice.
  3. Yep, know that feeling now. I notice when I do something stupid, I do not recover as fast as I used to.
  4. At least you didn't say you regretted letting her have that sharp knife. then we would have known you had physical scars to go with the psychological scars 🤪.
  5. I see it as they count against you for the day. You know the deal just like waterfowl. You can gift them as long as you label them to another but not take another limit for the day. When you gift any game, you must label that you are the taker, but you release possession to another person. this way if the giftee does not have a license he can legally possess them.
  6. I would lump then into the category that end up in a five-gallon bucket that fade out and are not cannot be identified by the end of the fishing day.
  7. Congrats to you and your bride. We are not far behind you.
  8. Are you telling us he has turned to vinegar or went sour? Maybe just from a bad bunch of grapes?
  9. It is already happening you just don't want to admit it. 🤣
  10. Bummer @Daryk Campbell Sr you are not able to go this year but yahoo on the continued recovery process. Get better and better buddy.

    What's Cooking?

Nothing wrong with leftovers! Sometimes even better second go around.
  13. Never ran it through the chrono. Fills to 206 BAR which is Approximately 3000 PSI. Can get three full power shots although third shot drops a bit. This is on a full bolt cock. You co do half cock for less power and more shots. Left to right facing picture. Slug, then slug meets steel plate and slug meets power pole corner post. Like I said never yet slug meets flesh yet. I know the .45 roundball has taken an adult doe and coyote but is less accurate.
  14. @Ketchup Neat little gun. Took a doe with a roundball a couple years ago. Found some Nielsen slugs that pattern decent at 50 yards. I'll keep my shots close. So far this season passed on does. Really don't care if I take another deer but who knows when that might change and I get the urge to pull the trigger.
  15. Good job Kendall!
  16. Nice Mike! Years ago, we would do the grind like you with beef trimmings and one year pork. Turned out very well. Now just a straight grind and add fat or not depending on what we decide to make. Really like the versatility of venison and it's good for us. Was out with the .45 cal deer air rifle yesterday morning and evening. Passed on some slickheads and seen one nice buck at a distance through the timber. Might pull the trigger on another one before the various deer seasons ends but really don't need another. Good luck on the sausage buck man.
  17. Nice I like her too.
  18. So, all we kept of this deer and did not grind was the backstraps, inside tenderloins and heart. Heart being the only offal retained. The rest was separated in muscle groups or trimmed off. Neck trimmed too. This was all chunked up and frozen in gallon bags for grinding later. I like my meat frosty to ground. When you do a bunch the grinder the auger can get warm where it meets the bushing. Today was grinding day. Let meat thaw enough to pull chunks apart and go to grinding. Took longer to set up than grind. With the Mrs. running the stuffing tube and bag then using the hog rings and pliers closing the bags I was pulling apart and loading meat. Our bags averaged 1.8 pounds plus we ended up with 40 pounds of ground meat. Now they are freezing up in a -20-degree freezer.
  19. Yes, because some people get it and sell it. Wife in her job sees it all the time.
  20. Both of you guys are spot on. Just use a belt and keep top tite as possible because if you go under and fill waders you really do not want them to open at the top and become like a drift sock and help the current take you away faster.
  21. So, when you sent terriers in the barns and killed racoons you eat all of them Rick? Now to the bowfishing statement. Even invasive species? Do you eat the armadillo you kill in your yard? Believe me I know how you feel about Crows. Smartest thing in feathers!
  22. WOW!
  23. While breasting out ducks yesterday morning. Oh Brother where out thou soundtrack. It never gets old, VID_20221111_105814606.mp4
