We did also last fall with a few bonus hybrid right across from the ramp in Indian island. Best hybrid fishing though was farther up the lake from KK island and beyond. It was a hoot!

Carl, Used to fish a bunch out of the Fairfield access. Need to get back with the program up there. Launch and head up towards the bridge and beyond up the Pomme arm. Both sides of the bridge. This time of the year ten foot and out deeper. You will catch crappie and whites here and there with small crankbaits. For your uncle and his buddy this may happen as it did for my wife Pat in the summer of 2020. Everyone will be satisfied, I think. Good luck and give us a fishing report if you go.

I have done some 20s. Small enough for me. I have learned that you can get away with making a size 20 fly on a 18 or even 16 hook and the fish do not seem to care. they seem to key in on the fly and ignore the hook. Note this is on nymphs and bead head thread flies. You probably are not going to float an oversized hook. -
Pretty neat @FishnDave. We really enjoyed our driftless trip last year. Might do it again someday. Never found any rainbows but a ton of browns.
