Well done my friend!
I am so glad you are catching while scouting the river so you can point the White River novices who only get down there once a year for Jig Fest where they might start fishing. That Reminds me I should get down there more,

Correct, correct, correct,
Lakes are assigned a level for the lake proper. On one arm of Truman I fish Backwater can back in the stream for miles from the lake. There used to be a sign that stated where the lake ended. It did not last long,

Heck yes I would eat that. I am game at trying about anything now. Wasn't too many years ago some things I wouldn't touch with a ten foot fork. Deer heart tar-tar, livers in Cajun dirty rice are a couple examples.

If we could hunt them I would know for sure but talking to others that have hunted them they claim the same. I would like to know. Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas has seasons. States heading North of that bunch have seasons. Been close to those birds fishing out West. All I can do is lick my chops and wonder,

Now all my questions have been answered!
Wrench is ailing, he is afflicted, he has caught cat scratch fever. He should of been immunized as a child. Lets all hope he has a full recovery with no more side effects,

Catch a non native and whack it's head off!
Save a native cutthroat. I like the sound of that. Out of all our trips West never fished in Idaho but drove through it on a couple occasions. The rolling hills and potato fields are pretty neat to see.

Well 22 big North wind snow and sleet,

We have not even ordered tomato or pepper seeds yet. Might this afternoon. I am sure @ness his is planted and maybe even blooming by now,

Travis,
You are going to get a bunch of opinions on this topic for sure. IMO if you think you are going to get hot enough to sweat something other than cotton so it will wick. Otherwise just layer for what you would be doing outside at home underneath. We use non insulated waders all of waterfowl season in sub freezing weather and layer according to weather predicted. I personally have more problem with chest area than legs and feet. The way winter is holding on you may be more concerned with what is out of the water than what is in it. Good luck and looking forward to you reports buddy!
