The machine tool was pretty cool as well. Back in 1980 I ran an old Pratt Whitney Jig Borer before there was such thing as digital readout and glass scales. The linear dimensions in X and Y were .0001” increment dial indicators with inside stick micrometers for various lengths.

This is so cool. @BilletHead likes his cast iron, I figured you would love this as I do. The ball bearing test is intriguing. Shows that these old metalworking devices are still top notch.

I will say that the scales with the darker periphery above the lateral line look slightly off what I would consider to be the “Model” largemouth look. But in general it looks very largemouth. Maybe it’s just that South Dakota Largies look different than southern largemouth.

Fished the Big Bash Bash last weekend, in the first hour my buddy’s MinnKota Ultrex took a dump and had to be turned by hand the entire weekend. Needless to say we weren’t happy. They said the main motor that turns the shaft went out, and when that goes out, the main board and foot control sensor board usually fail with it. It was just out of warranty. $980 to fix it. What a freakin joke.

I fished a big lure 75% of the time so I knew I wouldn’t get many bites… As soon as I switched the smaller Lures I caught a couple two pounders but I went right back to throwing the big Lure

If someone tries to do their job, young or old, I will support them to the end. I also have young kids myself and when I see a young kid “being a kid” at a restaurant, I try to see my own child in that position and give them a break. I’ve seen some young kids that are mature beyond their years and have extraordinary talent. They just lack experience. They need to grind it out for a few years and pay their dues…it will help them immensely.
