Brazie's isn't technically on the Hill, but it's a great Italian restaurant off Watson and Arsenal not far from the Hill. Guidos as said above is very family friendly and it has everything from pizza to pasta to tapas. Giovanni's is really good and they finish cooking your food at your table, but it's $$$. I've never been overly impressed with Charlie Gittos, kind of pricey for what you get. Another good place on the Hill is Modesto which is tapas, and while it's pricey, all those little plates of stuff sure are good. I've always enjoyed Favazza's also on Southwest Ave.

Lottawotta Creek, holy hell, that place is sinful, just sinful... OMG, what a bargain too! (Good call there upstream- albeit in Illinois)

I know this post is crazy old... But as far as eating on the Hill, "Rigazzi's"... Done, and.. Done.. :)

Some of the places mentioned are closed now. I'd like to add The Old Spaghetti Factory!

Not just any White Castle, the one on Gravois near Bevo Mill is the best.

We have a ton of new choices. Most are pretty darn good. Food Culture and the restaurant business is allot more competitive now.

Gavin is right about the loop. Our favorite place to eat there is Corner 17. The best Chinese food in STL in my opinion. They make the noodles in front of you and have the most unique shaved ice dessert with cream added.
