bfishn Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I enjoy the forum much the same way I enjoy the comic section of the Sunday paper... pure entertainment. I don't fish the posted spots or use the advertised baits any more than I'd Charlie Brown a Lucy football, or repeat one of Dilbert's thinly veiled insults to his boss. Heck, I'd rather count crickets on a cold winter night than fish for bass. The only time I've actually used any of the information posted here is to know where not to go. When my "name" is listed as viewing a post, it just means my computer is displaying that page, not that I'm frantically copying down details for tomorrow. It's just as likely that I left it there while taking a dump or gone to work. I can't dance like I used to.
Old plug Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I am going to throw this Ipad in the trash after this post if I can set up on the computer. I. am old and have a good dose of the problems that come with it. But this thing is beyond me. When I would tell my daughter and her husband about it they thought surely it was my imagination. This past christmas while they were here for 2 days I turned it over to them to look at and use. Both have been leading programers and the son in law has a PHD in computer science. Plus many years of experience. He said he has never ever seen anything do some of the things this Ipad does. I will not list them but he thinks down loading and deleting a lot of games as I do when the grand kid come for a visit has something to do with it. Sac River Jim 1

Tanderson15 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Don't worry about me. Just bored and I only allow walleyes in my boat unless I accidentally catch a green or brown fish.
Members Wart 57 Posted January 1, 2015 Members Posted January 1, 2015 I never want our forum to be unfriendly to guests and certainly not to members, and I may have spoken a bit strongly about the trolls. But there is a small population of members who fish a lot but HARDLY EVER contribute anything in the form of a report. (Does not apply to Fishrman, who started this thread as a simple request for info and who posts frequently about his outings.) Yet when I was responding yesterday to this thread, I looked at the bottom and they were all lined up waiting for the active members to pass out some free information. Just frustrating to put in all the time and money chasing these fish around and then have others take the info you freely give, go catch fish and then be unwilling to offer any kind of report. On the other hand, I should not be so naive as to think everyone enjoys the hunt as much as the catching. That level of satisfaction is reserved for the true anglers among us, not the bent-pole pattern guys. First time posting. Live in St Louis but fish point 15 area about 20 trips a year. Parents live in point 15 area. Any Cape Fair area guys on here ? Where did the smallies come from all of a sudden the last 2 years. I am not talking about the james river way up by Galena or the ones way up flat creek. I caught a 6 and three other keepers of one small stretch last fall. This past mid November I hit on a bank and caught about 20 and 8 were keeps, 3 over 18 inches on a 50 yard stretch of bank. These were fat lake brownies and chunky. Never have I ran into a bunch in this area of the lake like that. I know the water is really clearing up in that area. Just want to see if any one else has noticed this. I do enjoy reading this forum Good Fishing
Pepe Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 First time posting. Live in St Louis but fish point 15 area about 20 trips a year. Parents live in point 15 area....... I do enjoy reading this forum Good Fishing Thanks for posting and welcome to a great forum. We would love to hear from you when you make it to the lake, also.
Pepe Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I would probably be one of the guys you consider a "lurker" as well. My parents live down there and Table Rock is my favorite lake to fish so I like to keep up with what is going on down on the lake even though I live in Des Moines. I don't post much since I only get down there a few times a year and probably won't get to head down that way again until May. You are certainly welcome here. I understood the words Champ wrote (since it was in plain language) to prompt others to contribute when they have been on the lake. That's a win-win.
crazy4fishin Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Heck - I read these posts as a way to live vicariously through Champ, Donna - who might be the better fisherperson of the two, Bill, the Ned rig guy - I also read the Taney forum so I can live through Phil, the Gator jet guy, man is that boat loud!! and some poor guy that is continually snagged in outlet 3, maybe some one should go help him??? All though when I am on Taney, once a year, I do post what I am doing there, that advice and $4 will get you a cup of coffee at the bucks!. You folks make it bearable since I live in an area that uses the term lake like you would a shallow back water area....most of our lakes are no wake!! Tough when you have 250HP hanging on the back Anyway - please keep posting and I promise I will not poach your place but I may say hi if I am in the area! C4F Crazy4fishinA Cornhusker
