Members jackman724 Posted February 11, 2015 Members Posted February 11, 2015 Fish almost exclusively with my brother or one of my two teenage daughters. Fished alone a lot in the past but not anymore. Love the company, the comraderie and the love associated with having those people in the boat with me. Can't imagine it any other way nowadays...
buddygr53 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I also was fishing alone becouse the wife would never want to go so i just about gave it up. So instead gave up the wife. Found a new wife that enjoys going with me weather she fished or not. Some times she will just take a book and read while i fish. I love my time with her
*T* Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I can enjoy fishing alone but much prefer having a fishing partner. But I really like to fish the locations, styles, speed and baits that I have confidence in based on conditions at the time. In other words, I like having control of the boat. Get a little frustrated when I am locked in to fishing one way or place when I think we are missing out in not fishing other areas or techniques. OldMillRoad Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 At times I do enjoy the solitude of being alone, especially on a quiet morning when the sun is coming up. But I raised a mini-me that I have a hard time fishing without. He is a fourth generation Table Rock bass fishing nut. fishingaddiction 1
vernon Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Since my dad and my good buddy Walt died, I only fish with my wife and/or brother. I'm kind of picky about who I share my boat with and even more picky about how I like to fish. When my wife and I go, I usually fish alone in the morning while she sleeps in. She'll come out in the afternoon and evening and while she's actually a pretty good fish catcher, lots of times she just enjoys reading or being out on the water. My brother is nuts like me though and we'll spend a ridiculous number of hours out there no matter how successful we are or aren't. Don't get to go nearly often enough and we know our days are numbered so when we do go we soak up every second! Really do miss the times with my dad and with Walt though. Best days of my life. Hunter53 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I prefer to fish with my wife or someone else; it is just more fun than being alone in the boat. With that said I probably do better when by myself; as I am focused on catching fish myself instead of trying to make sure others are catching fish or at least having a good time. Champ188 1
96 CHAMP Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I have generally always fished alone, i have a buddy that lives on loz but he does not fish, been fishing table rock most of the time alone, my brothers have no interest in fishing these lakes, they are die hard creek fisherman like i was as we grew up although i did get my younger brother down to TR last spring and made a believer out of him, he adapted real well, i have had my wife down in early summer drop shot fishing, she loved it, i wish i had a son to take fishing, as far as guys from work and other friends, it seems you have to twist there arms to go, maybe they are intimidated being it is something new to them or they just don't love to fish as much as i do.
