What Did You Do New This Year

Well summer is coming to an end, and there is some still great fall fishing.  However, what did you try new that worked this year.  

Mine started when I could not get a bite.  I had tried everything and was drop shotting a fineness worm.  I saw a box of Uncle Bucks Helgramites that I got on clearance for $.25.  I didn't want to re-rig so I took it off the jig it came with and hooked it through the head.  What do you know, it started working.  So I kept trying it.  I have caught whites, bass (stream and pond), blue gill, crappie, and catfish on it.  I haven't had the same luck with the jig it comes with.  Try it and let me know if it works for you.

as too the real question, I have fished the ponds at the golf course a few times this year.  Hadn't done it since I joined 5 years ago.  Let's just say I didn't tell any of the other members about it.  It sort of took me back to my youth when Dad had a pond and I had several "pets" in it.

Rosh Hashana is the only new year in a couple days. Think I'll do some tax returns and answer questions while my colleges are off.

Something I have never done before, went an entire summer (at least since late march) and never made even a single cast.   However I have discovered that not fishing doesn't stop one from buying fishing gear.  I gave up smoking and chewing too but those but they might have been cheaper habits than buying gear.

I don't watch TV anymore this year, as a matter of fact, I  unsubscribed completely from cable television starting Jan 1st. I feel liberated. I do miss my Cardinal games though.

I bought a blown 4-stroke outboard (Merc 115) just so I could say I have rebuilt one. 

And did the largest horsepower swap of my career. (Triple 225's to triple 250's) 

The year isn't over yet but I have plans for another first if it works out
