It's a park that were still able to use, with the corp the other alternative would probably been to close it or some of the other parks in the area. I know that this has happened on the ozark pool of the river. Two of the parks that are open are being kept open one by the city of mulberry and the other by a group of individuals. It would be nice if someone kept a park open for us to use and we didn't have to pay anything, but someone has to pay for the upkeep. What I'm trying to say is it may be greed but because of someone"s greed we still have access to the lake and we should be thankful for that. Champ188 1

Rolling money that you don't need/want back to your employees and customers instead of feeding it to some church is SOCIALISM ? I had no idea. I just meant the part about telling me what to do with my money. Maybe you don't deserve a raise in the eyes of your boss, so he gives it away. What about high level employees that don't own the company and yet earn "more" than what they need? Should they give it to lower paid employees too? Pete Ham and dtrs5kprs 2

I'd much rather have your business than his. I was comparing my business philosophy to JM's - wanting to keep building, expanding instead of sitting back and getting fat on my profits. Comparing Lilleys' Landing to Bass Pro - that's silly!

Do we take that one literally or not this time? Are we still supposed to help rich widows? How? Rake leaves? Wash their cars and rub their feet? It helps to understand the time frame and culture when those words were spoken. During that time if a woman was not married (i.e. widow) she was considered the substandard, downtrodden or somewhat of an outcast in society. So Jesus was referring to a social class in that era. While widows and orphans today may not be looked down upon that same way today, we still have those that are oppressed and mistreated in our modern society. I hope this helps.
Flysmallie Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 It's obvious that I have done a poor job of explaining myself again. You cannot compare big business to small business in any way. That's insane. The philosophy on growing should be the same for all businesses. If you ain't growing you are dying. But I'll step out of this one. I get to live this type of stuff everyday for a living. Not proud of that at all and as soon as the youngest graduates I'm out. Ham 1

snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Exactly Ness! What I think gets lost in the conversation is how much risk needs to be taken to achieve a lot of wealth and success. The average guy that shows up everyday and collects his check really takes no real risk. If he shows up, he gets paid. Now start your own business or work for commision and see how much risky it really takes. Gets a little scary when you don't where the next dime is coming from and shouldn't that person be compensated for that? Pete Hazbin and dtrs5kprs 2
Ham Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Everybody hates the wealthy man, but how many jobs are created by a poor man? I never begrudge someone the wealth they have earned. I might not understand why a billionaire is still working 70 plus hours a week, but I don't hate him for it. There is not one single economic pie that has to be sliced up for everyone. Just because one guy is making a ton of money that doesn't mean he is preventing other people from getting their's.
