merc1997 Bo Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 really do not know why they were ever incorporated into the highway patrol to begin with. another example of how government can misuse and abuse anything. bo purpleworm, Brian Jones, Grumpy53 and 1 other 4
Old plug Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I think Nixon is in the pocket of the bussiness people around here. Bar owners do not like them they complain they scare off their customers. Used to be they were a strong presents every weekend on the gravois. After Nixon does this you would go weeks without seeing one. It amouts to no more than playing up to bussiness abd letting the dam drunks have here fun.
MOPanfisher Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 The basic concept of combining two state police agencies into one was not a terrible idea. The way it has been done and managed is nothing less than a huge black eye for the MSHP. big c, mixermarkb, Brian Jones and 3 others 6
Jerry Rapp Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 the system wasn't broke, but it is now broke because someone thought they could save a dollar. terryj1024, grizwilson, Grumpy53 and 3 others 6
GNSfishing Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Ever since the combining of the Water Patrol and the Highway Patrol there has been less presents on the water. The patrol boat spends at least 75% of the time on the lift at the Cape Fair marina. I would bet that you would find that to be the case at other locations on Table Rock Lake. While the number of boats on the water has increased along with violations due to non-enforcement of the boating laws & rules on navigation on the water.
Champ188 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 If you want to see them, just enter a tournament out of Kimberling City. They'll be out there in the predawn hours, nosing around trying to catch someone with a burnt-out or flickering stern light, checking registrations, etc. Eight hours later when you're trying to get back to weigh-in and dodging OBVIOUS drunks in wake boats all the way --- you know, REAL safety hazards --- they're nowhere to be found. dtrs5kprs, Brian Jones, Eric the awful fisherman and 6 others 9
Old plug Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 They are there I think champ to keep them out of the way of the privlledfed peole around here.
96 CHAMP Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I believe they were trying to save money and it bit them in the but, it is sad that one young man had to lose his life at LOZ due to the fact that they had a highway patrol man running his watch on the water where he was not accustomed and trained properly for water patrol duty, even if the young man was intoxicated. I believe I heard just the other day that the highway patrol man has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter, It was a bad deal for every one involved.
fishinwrench Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 He has been charged. There will never be a trial. In a few years they'll offer a plea deal that keeps him out of prison and he'll take it. Brian Jones 1
