Patrolman Piercy first reported to his superiors that he was only going about 10mph when the accident happened. Upon investigation it was revealed that he was actually traveling at speeds over 40 mph at the time of the accident. http://fox2now.com/2015/10/29/questions-remain-over-handcuffed-man-drowning-in-police-custody/

No offense intended, but a lot of the area is pretty much hellbent on making as much scratch as possible off of bad judgment, excess consumption, and moral turpitude. Have to really feel for the good folks who do live there, and work there. The same can be said for Table rock as well......both lakes have drunks wake boarding and pleasure cruising all over them Grumpy53 1
fishinwrench Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Piercy stated that the motor died and he had a hard time getting it restarted. We're talking brand new Optimax here. I have a good idea why it died and why it took Piercy awhile to get it restarted. My guess is that Piercy was thrown from the helm ALSO and it pulled the kill switch. I'd say it took him a minute to figure that out. Those motors don't just die and become hard to start because you slow down real quick. The throttle was in gear and the kill switch was pulled.....THAT is why the motor wouldn't immediately restart. Brandon wasn't the only one that got tossed from the helm, Piercy did too. Piercy should be charged with murder....if it is true that Piercy stood there and watched that kid struggle for his life and go down......well that cop should be hung as far as I'm concerned. If he really did that that it makes me sick and he is the true definition of a PIG..... and I have two LEO's in my immediate family ........that is BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Greasy B 1
MOPanfisher Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 FW I wouldn't be surprised at all if your guess is correct on the kill switch.

It's like the difference between an NFL game and a college game, in terms of behavior. I'm reluctant to take my kids to an NFL game, same for LOZ. mixermarkb 1

He is charged to the limit the law allows. I just wish they would have said the criminally negligend manslaughter. That is another term for involuntary manslaughter. it would no have meant a thing. But it sounds better to me.

That was the govenor Nixons intentions I believe that in my heart.

I don't doubt that he tries to cover his but either. That's just my opinion,,, just another example of how politicians can mess everything up like usual. Champ188, Brian Jones and big c 3
Members BiteMeBaits Posted January 11, 2016 Members Posted January 11, 2016 Obviously I don't know all of the water patrol guys but being an Officer I personally know three and they are all stand up guys who are squared away. No matter if you love them or hate them, let's all remember they are human and legitimately are concerned for boater safety. Champ188, dtrs5kprs and 96 CHAMP 3
