My current version of under armour is a tshirt that I wore back in 8th grade that's super skin tight and 3" too short now. Hillbilly compression gear. Ham and Champ188 2
gitnby Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Under Armour Infrared is good stuff. I have the top and the bottom. I wear an old wool sweater over the UA and then an insulated wind jacket over that. On bottom, I wear the UA under fleece sweat pants or jeans and then rainsuit bottom over that. This setup has kept me warm in temps down to mid to high teens. Any colder than that, you won't see me out there on the water!
dblades Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 For 60 bucks you can get a cheap snowmobile suit, be warm and able to move. I've never been able to be comfortable when layering, nothing fits right when I layer.

Jim Elam Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Patagonia (Capilene 4 - heaviest weight) - expensive but incredibly warm and dry, great at wicking moisture away. Mine is still going strong 10 years later. snagged in outlet 3 and Ham 2 Jim "The obsessions of others are opaque to the unobsessed, and thus easy to mock...If we are lucky we all have at least one."
Ham Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I really did not like the way the UA made me feel. I'd rather wear the Cabela's stuff top and bottom with layers over that. base layer, nice warm shirt , fleece, wind/water proof outer. Hat and gloves. I'd good down to 20 or so. I'm MOSTLY done fishing when its in the teens. Champ188 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members Walleye Jenkins Posted January 17, 2016 Members Posted January 17, 2016 Save your money from all of the name brand expensive layers. For your base layer get on ebay and get some Polypros military issue. Used them for years for hunting and fishing and in the military. Put these on first then any other clothing. Wash on delicate and dry on low heat or you will ruin them. They are a fraction of the price and no short supply of them. The prices for some of these brands mentioned is ridiculous. Stay warm! tho1mas 1
LD Fisher Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Be forewarned. One should not put on their base layer in a well lite room with mirrors. I did, and looked up and didn't know whether to laugh or cry!! I had to make a decision whether to go on a diet or to start dressing in the dark in a room with no mirrors. Kinda hurts when you stub your toe in a dark room!!! Deadstream, Ham, crazy4fishin and 1 other 4
