I will admit my SIL was sort of that way but he learns quickly and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.  However if he could figure a way to get it done via computer he would.

Don't know if the scents stay on the bait very long but they do remove or replace the human smell we all leave behind when handling baits.   Great tip Champ 188...thanks.

Never really tried scents....bought some berkely stuff and it smelled so bad I never used it.....that is a GREAT idea about the plastic bag champ188....that way you never have to touch it,  I never thought about doing that.  Guess I'll have to give it a try next time I use a jig.

About skinny jeans pink shirts and trucker hats,  yup they look like morons..but my parents thought I was retarded with baggy jeans spiky hair and a TOOL tshirt.  The older generation will always be shaking their heads with dumb teenagers.

Great topic.  Here's the list of what's been mentioned for scents:

Berkley hand wash (to remove your stink)

Megastrike!

The JJ's Magic (works into the plastic)

KVD craw stick

Fish Formula

gulp in craw

PowerBait Bass formula

whiZkers, essence of crawdad

Smelly Jelly

Any favorites out there?

A few years ago my niece (who was 22 at the time) her boyfriend and four other couples decided to go to the lake "camping".  She called my brother four different times asking how to start a charcoal fire so they could grill hot dogs.  Not a one out of the ten of em' had a clue how to do it.  Needless to say, they were home not long after dark!

Fortunately, she's now found an ol' western Kansas boy who grew up on a farm and now has a great job out of KC in sales.  Polite, respectful and pretty dang smart.  There still are a few of them out there but the majority make me glad I'm old and gonna be dead soon!

Not to be off topic, or derail this thread or anything, but has anyone had problems with scents lingering on their hands after using them on their lures?

I really hope it wasn't that Matchlite charcoal.

Then there's the other extreme, my neighbor hosted a neighborhood cookout a few years ago, for some reason he decided to use gasoline as a fire starter.  He lost some hair.

I think you're bringing it back on topic.

Yeah that stuff can linger on your skin, clothes, boat, life jacket, you name it.
