Forums are way too impersonal... and it's easy to get offended if you're not looking someone in the eye.  Laugh it off... life it too short.  Fish like you love to fish, however that is.

Well thabk you Phil I think we should take advantge of your offering.  I am sure if Wrench came he would be very helpful. He is all for helping others. Lets me suggest. Maybe we could all meet at JB Hooks for breakfast and coffee some morning. I think that would be nice.

If (when) I get tangled in a trotline, I will do my best to pull it to the surface where I can get hold of it enough to retrieve my lure.  It does irritate me when the line isn't marked as I wouldn't have snagged on it to begin with if it were marked.  But that is life.

Sounds like fun.  Finding the time is the hard part.  Shift work puts my time off at odd days and hours.

Many don't know what those jugs floating in the water are. Some above called these folks stupid but they are there just to have a good time. So you have maybe a 200 foot wide main channel with literally 20 boats flying back and forth. A number of times I saw 4 abreast with some boaters/tubers being pushed into the jugs because the jugs were so far into the main channel. This guy put out 10 Jugs. So many of you say he was there first the screw the boaters. Most of you have stood tall for this jugger dude but ... on a busy weekend ..... with heavy traffic .... novice boaters ... wouldn't you think the jugger dude would use a little common sense? I saw him tend his lines once. Traffic was extremely busy and looked like he almost was throw from his boat. But dammit he was there first and be darn if he was going to move those lines! So stand your ground ... I don't care .... this guy is extremely inconsiderate. He could have waited till next weekend (non holiday weekend) to locate the jugs in those areas.

I have read the thread from start to finish and some parts more than once.  You admit there is 15 miles of water yet you are only complaining about the narrows you described early on as the place you like to drift.  If I am in that area and I see that the jugs are out I am going somewhere else to fish in the 15 or so miles.  If I am pulling tubers or skiers I will not endanger them by pulling them through that area.  We will go somewhere else.  If the entire 15 miles is a mass of boats and too busy for my tastes I'll trailer and go elsewhere on the lake or I will go to another lake that is less crowded on a holiday weekend (Stockton) and enjoy my time on the water.  I typically stay away from LOZ on a holiday weekend for that very reason.  I have been on Stockton many times on holiday weekends and never had a problem and I typically fish from a 16 foot jonboat with a 25 HP.  If you want to drive a flag with your crest on it in the bottom of the lake and stake your claim go ahead.  I would rather enjoy my time on the water in a safe manner and not deal with all the lake drama.  Out of 52 weeks during the year, I intentionally avoid Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day weekends at LOZ.  I have no issues going down there the rest of the year.

Right or wrong if I snag a trot line and it is marked shame on me.  I'll try and get my lure back, but will sacrifice it if I can't get it unstuck and the line is marked.  If the line is not marked then bad on the trot liner.  I'll get my bait back even if it means cutting the line.

Love LOZ, fantastic fishery.  Was not and will not be on the water Shootout or Labor Day weekend.  I tend to look at things the same as some others above do - if someone is there first, I move on to other water.  That is the way most others behave when the situation is reversed but obviously that is not a universal rule - especially on BBB weekends.  I typically avoid those too or strictly fish open water...

Between Labor day and Memorial day the following year LOZ is a great lake to fish.  During the week it is a great lake to fish.  Holiday weekends not so much.
