Jerry Rapp Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 this was caught today at the BASS tourney on Milles Lac, Minnesota. Steve Kennedy caught it. I have never caught one half that size. dan hufferd 1
Ham Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Hard for me to tell how big that one is really. I'm sure I've caught some 12 inch ones. I'll have to start measuring I guess. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Johnsfolly Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 My largest measured ozark and northern rock bass are just a bit larger than 10 inches. However I'm pretty sure that I have caught some over 11 inches. My catches came from mostly fishing small creeks and rivers. I'm pretty sure that there are some that big in the larger rivers or lakes of the ozarks. dan hufferd 1
jtram Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I have caught 10-11 inch ones, I think that I have caught a 12 but it wasnt measured so maybe not. Thats a pig either way. Slam, pull pull pull, flop, its a googler dan hufferd 1
jdmidwest Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 They tend to thrive in the same waters as smallies. Cool and clear. There are management areas in MO for them, minimum length is 8" for possession to encourage trophys. Johnsfolly Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Quillback I've caught rock bass in Connecticut and upstate NY as a kid. Wouldn't surprise me if they are in Canada as well.
MOPanfisher Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 The one in the original ock is a nice thick wide one with dark coloring. Good one anywhere.
