Mitch f Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 It actually does concern me a little about leaving my stuff on the bottom of the river. Daryk Campbell Sr 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
fishinwrench Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 One of my buddies does that thing where you grab the line and send your rod/reel down the line to knock the bait free. I have a perfectly good hound dawg in the boat, but he just loves to do that trick. One of these days.... the inevitable is gonna happen. And I'm gonna laugh like a madman. ?

That's taking a huge risk with a rod tip! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Members Parkerhollow Posted November 13, 2016 Members Posted November 13, 2016 Case in point... snagged this one over the summer. Kept it for awhile thinking I would make a mold for the jig head but the temptation to try it was to great.... i think I lost it on the fourth cast I made with it so it's back on the bottom of the meremac with its litter mates! add me to the list of folks patiently waiting to buy some! Hog Wally Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Parker, I am sure that was mine. If I'm on a hot spot I will break em off instead of running the boat over the fish to get my jig back. Parkerhollow 1

fishinwrench Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I used to think like that, but then I realized that if I pulled until I broke off, the fish in that area would quit biting anyway.....so now I just go get the bait and give the spot a rest. Flysmallie, Norm M and Terrierman 3
