Bill Babler Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Got home last night before dark from deer camp and the lake was full of bass boats. This morning they started before good light. Currently I can see 9 boats in the Clevenger to 86 bridge area from the lodge. They have been running all over this morning, sometimes 5 or 6 running past at a time. Is there a major derby this weekend? If not and this is normal traffic for the middle of the week on November 16th. I have not seen the like. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
abkeenan Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Looked at the Missouri Regatta and there are no large tournaments the rest of the month, or rest of the year for that matter. When I was down this past weekend pretty much had the dam area to myself which is a first. Only saw a handful of bass rigs running around both days. I was the only idiot at the 86 ramp when I launched on Saturday morning and only one other moron was at the ramp when I pulled out on Sunday afternoon. 96 CHAMP, Alex Heitman, Champ188 and 1 other 4
Bill Babler Posted November 16, 2016 Author Posted November 16, 2016 It is busy as all get-out right now. Becky and I had to run over to Shell Knob and the leaf colors are just spectacular. Lots of reds and oranges, mixed with still quite a few green oaks and lots of maples just turning. We have 3 really pretty maples in our landscaping and they are very vibrant. Its close to 1 PM and there is still boats running. Lots of them headed up Long Creek and lots of them coming and going from Big Cedar Hollow. When we passed Dog Wood Canyon on the way over to the knob, I don't think you could have gotten another car or truck anywhere in their parking lot. It is extremely busy down here. Going to get really high winds in the next several days, so I'm sure the leaf deal will come to an abrupt end. Glad we got to enjoy it today. Quillback Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I fished out of Big M this morning, very foggy to start and did not hear another boat, but when the fog burned off the boats started appearing. I too thought it was pretty busy, I'm thinking the weather brought everybody out.
Champ188 Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Bill, I sent a Facebook bulletin to everyone within 200 miles of The Rock that you were coming back from deer camp today. They were all out there to welcome you back and where were you? Out galavanting around looking at leaves. Heckuva deal. Bassmod, crazy4fishin, Royal Blue and 3 others 6
176champion Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I saw a couple of wakeboats headed down towards the lake this morning on my way in to work.. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips

They tell me the numbers are up from last year, but you couldn't prove it by me. InPiney 1
Quillback Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I can't tell you how many fishing articles I have read about fall bass fishing, and they all will say that "Fishing in the fall is great because once deer season starts you'll have the lake to yourself." Not around here. Champ188 and 96 CHAMP 2

Not around here. Nope, that doesn't happen here. Unless it's in the 30s/40s and raining or something worse with winds 10-20 mph. Quillback 1
