Bass Enforcer Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Mr. Babler those must be some great big bedrooms or someone saw ya coming. Lol. That is crazy. I laid hardwood in my main living area, hallways, foyer and kitchen, tiled 3 bathrooms and laundry room, and carpeted 4 bedrooms and spent less than that. That being said I did do all my own tile and hardwood but someone else put the carpet in for me. Perhaps I guess things could be more expensive in your area. Hammer time and Royal Blue 2

If you can find 20' to 22' with a 250 on it new for 40 grand you better latch onto it. On another note who would have thought carpeting 3 bedrooms would cost $12,000.00. Price of doing business has really changed hasn't it? I have not ordered my new Phoenix yet, but if anyone is interested in my 2014 Pro Staff boat send me a PM. Warranty will be thru 2020 I can probably save you about $20,000 if you want a pre-owned one. I don't remember Vernon's deal being that easy. Maybe he should rethink that. Point well taken! However, and believe it or not, even when factoring in the gory details to which you refer, I still pretty much stand by my statement - which should give you an idea of how much fun I've had buying boats over the years. After a Charger, a Champion and the ten Ranger's, I'm convinced that buying a boat is the most difficult, stressful transaction that there is in life! Now, being a little on the neurotic side probably doesn't help but I've bought way more vehicles than boats, a couple of houses and Lord only knows what else and the only thing I can think of that's been a bigger pain in the posterior than buying a boat is SELLING one! Of course, the most recent purchase was also the first one (since the very first one way back in 1974) that I bought out of existing inventory. Maybe avoiding the additional angst of ordering a custom build has something to do with it (see neurotic comment). big c, Sore Thumbs, crazy4fishin and 2 others 5 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." She paid about $5.75 a sq. ft. for the carpet, best sound proof pad that had, plus the installation. We had to remove all the furniture. We purchased it at Lowe's. with all the paint and some other supplies. 8 gallons of paint at $36.00 per gallon, and about 1,800 sq. ft. of carpet. Total bill $11,888.00 with tax and a 1/2 dozen rollers and brushes. Now you know the rest of the story. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Have talked to some guys here that have Phoenix boats and love them and said they saved $10K off of a Ranger. I just do not know how these boat companies think the average fisherman can justify spending $60-70K on a boat and use it 10-15 times a year, that is crazy! We probably have to stay away from the justify aspect of owning a boat ....heck if that were the criteria I would only have a Zebco spooled with 12 lb line, three bobbers and 1/2 dozen hooks!! SO - funny story about justifying things - moving some stuff for the wife....noticed a butt load of shoes....for kicks I counted the number of pairs...well in excess of 125 pair and I ask her why she needs so many shoes....she lovingly takes my hand ( I knew I was probably in trouble at this point) and we walk to the garage and we stand in front of my tackle bench.....nuff said. Ranger, Nitro..looked at the most thus far. I scanned through the comments pretty quickly so I may have missed some things. But a couple of questions I don't think anyone asked is are you looking new or "nused"? Are you paying ca$h or planning to finance for twenty years? Where are you going to use it? How far are you going to pull the boat? And the big question for me would be what outboard brands do the marine mechanics closest to me service? Example: In our area, the closest marine mechanic only services Mercury, Yamaha and OMC Johnson's and Evinrude's. The closest dealer that services E-TECs is over an hour away.
