I couldn't agree more on the music/commercial BS but I would say with that being an ESPN station, Don is at the mercy of people way above his pay grade. I know none of you are blaming him, just sayin ...

Crap, look what ESPN did to BASS ... turned it into a circus/freakshow rather than a tournament circuit. And although they no longer own it, McKinnis has been closely aligned with ESPN since their inception.

I'm with Vernon on Zona --- he makes me want to yack. I think Donna still likes some of his stuff but that's an area where she and I have to agree to disagree. And neither of us can stomach Mercer. G-G-G-G-G-GIANT BASS! Heaven help us.

I liked Zona's show a couple of years ago, but now it's all about Zona and whomever is fishing with him that day, cutting up and being goofy.  It's OK for a show or two, but it is getting old fast.  Fishing U is just flat out bad.  They had an episode a couple of years ago where McClelland was showcasing the Rock Crawler, I think that it the last one I enjoyed.

I like Honey Hole Outdoors with Bill Wilcox, it's pretty much all Texas fishing, but he does a good job explaining what he's doing and letting you know what he is using.  There's only a couple weeks delay in showing the show, so it stays seasonal.  It's on FSSW Saturday mornings I think 0530 or 0630 AM (I record it).  You can also watch it on the web.

I was stuck in the house for a while so I watched a LOT of fishing shows.

 Besides MLF, Wilcox show would be my pick. His mellow tone, and informational outings make it a pleasant 30 minutes

Honey Hole is a good show. I like that guy. Seems to be a regular joe. Those Schooled by Denny Brauer shows were excellent. For those who haven't seen them check em out on YouTube. I've only seen a couple episodes. If anyone out there has copies of his shows I would love to purchase or borrow them. I like informative shows not one long infomercial that showcases whatever bait they are pimping that day. I did watch some raw footage from MLF the other day with KVD. It was interesting. He was casting over and over to one area with various baits. I never would have stayed in one spot that long but it goes to show that when those guys know there are fish in an area they are gonna eventually catch them.

What ended it for me when it comes to Zona (although I was pretty much done a long time ago) is an episode that was on earlier this season.  Air temperature up where they're at is like 30, it's snowing like crazy with a 30 mph wind howling.  

Dude says he's been sicker than a dog with the flu.  Hasn't been able to even get out of bed for like four days and has a temperature of 102 but "Doggone it, the smallmouth are bitin' and you KNOW that NOTHING'S going to keep me from getting out there when those smallmouth are goin'!"  

He then proceeds to head out and do a show where they wear out the batteries in his partner's boat so they go in and get Zona's boat so they can go back out and fish the rest of the day.  

Guy makes Navy SEALS look soft.

Might be what gets Donna goin' Champ!

Zona and Mercer are ruining B.A.S.S. in my opinion.   FLW is so much easier to watch

You think a real fishing nut might not do something like that ?? I have been out on snow storms that dumped  6 inches of snow in the boat in a short time. Fished with a tornado running over LOZ a 11/2  miles away. Got caught in that one but a normal person could see it coming back off and would have got the heck out of there. Fished through pain more times thah I can count, through a bloody arm from a fish hook, sickness and Have stayed up for 2 days 36 to 48 hrs to fish. First tme I done that I was about 10 yrs old and was on a trip to the famous White Rver (  now under Table Rck  ) that time they had to force me to bed. Done it numerouse time to fish Clearwater when we had only had one  night shot at fishing. NOPE nothing surprises me when it comes to fshing nuts.

Oh I've done that kind of crazy stuff too but this is different.
