As good a report for a fisherman as I've seen. I'd love to have a report that well written before any fishing trip.

I know what you mean Champ.  I just reported this week over the phone, that's the only way they want to take it. If they get the lake level, surface temp and a line or two, I'm thinking that's about it.  Some of our KC guys will have to let us know.  I know Vernon keep tabs on it, so guys please let us know what they are saying, up there in the Polar North.

Good Luck

Excellent report Mr. Babler. Let me ask you this. The KC Star will not report all of that info. Why? Too long for them? As a reader of the KC Star and an avid fishing report reader on Thursdays I wish they would report all of that info!!!! Anyway, I hope you will report as detailed a fishing report on here every week!! Is that asking too much?:)

I think it was a stretch for them to just move the report from Fridays  to Thursdays after only about twenty years (or more) of subscribers requesting it. Lots of lake travelers are on the road on Friday's and are headed out before the paper shows up so at least that was a plus.

I can't say that I really knew Brent Frazee although I met him a few times and actually called him at the Star at least a dozen others to talk about trips he'd recently taken to lakes I was visiting.  Really a great guy who'd talk your ear off about fishing while really trying to help you out with detailed information.  I, for one, really miss the guy.

If I could I'd only subscribe to the sports page. The rest is just added weight to the trash every Tuesday.

Keep up the great work Bill. You're the greatest (and I don't care what James keeps saying).

And newspapers want to know why they are no longer relevant. Here you have a chance to fill a LOCAL news need, something folks have to work to find elsewhere, and you can't spare a few extra lines of space.

Champ, I loved my newspapers back in the day.  I am 60 and probably one of the last of boomers to even spend 50 cents on the local rag.  I hate the reality of this personally, but the internet has changed the world.  I would love to go out and pick up the paper off the driveway each morning and read NEW news to me.  But I saw the news several hours earlier via the internet, etc.   And Bill, I would suggest that you insist that your report to the KC star include a tag line saying "to get up to date conditions/reports" visit Ozark Angers.

You nailed it, Jerry. The internet is just a better mousetrap. Unfortunately, most newspapers have done a very poor job of transitioning over to electronic delivery, leaving the baby in the cradle of "the talking heads" who we all know are of questionable journalistic talent/integrity.

Those who survived the afternoon anyway.

The fishing report in the KC Star this morning on TR: 50 degrees, very clear,10 ft low. Outlook: White River Lodge reports: Black bass fair on suspending jerk baits in 5 to 10 ft of water and on crawdad colored crankbaits in the river arms. That was it.

Wow, that doesn't really compare to what Bill sent them.
