ness Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Don't know how much attention it's getting outside the KC area, but a mushroom hunter found human remains in Cass county the other day. Kinda freaky. Authorities went out and found two human skulls. Lotsa speculation as to who they may be. Article here. John
MOPanfisher Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Happens every year, turkey hunters and mushroom hunters mostly. Mushroom guys are always looking down and poking around in the leaves etc. Still would give a feller the heebee jeebees to roll out a human skull. I have rolled out a plastic doll head and it was enough to give me the creeps for a minute.
jdmidwest Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 I have searched a few graveyards in the past and did not roll any skulls or mushrooms. I deemed them a lost cause. I do have one that has a good pecan tree growing in it. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
fishinwrench Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 The BilletHead's score! Made a trip to the metropolis of Springfield to dink around today. Mrs. BilletHead kept telling me we had to get things done and go home to look for shrooms. Well as soon as we got home it was come on lets look. We checked three places and found some where we typically can find a few early ones. The other two places were a scratch. May of been some there but the leaves are heavy and thick there and the little buggers could of been under the forest duff. First three found were tiny, Then the finding got a bit better, BilletHead You have the best wife ever! BilletHead Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 You have the best wife ever! If there is one thing that I make sure to destroy immediately it is tackle shop receipts. Well yes I think I do Wrench, Cannot figure it out. She doesn't question me much, acts like she likes me? Should I be scared? Asks for nothing but to keep the mower and weed eater in running shape so she doesn't have to fight to keep them going all summer. When it comes to fish and game cleaning she is right in the middle helping. We went to the river Tuesday and got into fish, she fished and caught. Started rigging my rods as I got the boat set up. Part of the time she just watched me fishing. I ask why are you not casting? Response I just like to watch you fish sometimes. Did I marry a stalker almost forty years ago? As she gets ready for work this morning I hear this. " Hey the wind isn't blowing too bad you should grab your fly rod and go to X pond for awhile" I am going to ride this wave as long as I can . Should I be worried? I really don't know why she likes me so much? I do feel guilty at times, not guilty but feel that way. Maybe I will cook today and have her dinner ready when she comes home from work, BilletHead MOPanfisher, grizwilson, Johnsfolly and 2 others 5 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Foghorn Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Sounds a lot like my Susie. She would rather go fishing and hunt mushrooms than go shopping. And always wants to make sure I have enough fly tying gear to tie what we like to throw. We went fishing on our 2nd date(her idea) and we are coming up on 36 years of marriage. BilletHead Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Gongrads Foghorn, Sometimes when a knot gets jerked in our tails in life we look at things different. I think you and I can agree on that . Took some time to introduce the Mrs. to the fishing bug. That and to make her realize meat did not have to be cooked to well done. Now it is her watching me and saying hey that has been on there long enough, got to have it red and not pink inside! Flysmallie Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 My wife is no outdoors girl. Would rather be shopping than fishing any day. Doesn't like to fish, not against it, but she would just rather sit and watch. And she has created several clones of herself that are really the same way. One of them still thinks fishing with dad is cool though she rarely does it anymore. But I don't fault them. Do what you love. Love what you do. And they rarely complain about my need to be fishing as much as possible. Here is the spawn of the Queen in their natural habitat. And everybody wonders why I'm broke all the time.
