We hit the lake around 6:45 and went straight to a big cove heading towards Big M.  We went about half way back and started with TW.  We started getting swipes right away and started off pretty good with 12- 14 inchers.  After that cove we hit a dry spell for a while.  We thought the TW was done and stated throwing other stuff.  We went back to TW and stated getting swipes and catching one here and there.  We finished with around 15 fish.  3 keepers but, nothing special.  I did catch 2 small mouth.  Oh, and my buddy slapped at a snake and ended up catching him (Oh, crap) luckily we ended up killing him and cutting off his head then he could unwrap the snake off his lure that was catching fish.  Then later he caught a turtle.  Both first times for me.  Good luck everyone!

Had that happen one time many years ago.

Ever since, I simply vacate said cove and move on to another.

Carl - thanks for the report...like some TW action that is for sure....gets the 'ole heart a pumpin!! Were you using the plopper? 

Vern - quick side note....I don't think that anyone uses "homey dont" phrase anymore - at least in this decade

Between Eagle Rock and Big M - Roaring River, Panther Creek, Owl Creek, Rock Creek. All have excellent locations for each of the seasons. There is a reason Quillback and I spend so much time in that area.

C4F,  I still say "Homey don't ..."  I guess I am late to the game.  I  still remember Homey D' Clown, Fireman Bill, Handi man etc.  Lol. I will always be using phrases from that show.  At least once a month,  something comes out of my mouth from In Living Color.

We tried the plopper but they would not hit it.  We were fishing Spooks and my buddy also used another walking bait I think it was a KVD Sexy Dawg. And Yeah, top water is the best.

O yeah - Fireman bill was the best.....I wasted many hours watching that show  the TW bite should be starting here soon. 

So I have a question - what is everyone's favorite TW lure? I really like the plopper and I have bought the plopper with the two little ones that I have not thrown yet.
