Thought that have done this in the past but I may be mistaking. It's much more complicated than that but there are many scenarios where that would indeed be the case. There are so many calculations that go into those decisions that it's difficult to describe. But you're right in that it has definitely been done in the past. Everyone knows that Johnny Morris makes any and all decisions regarding the COE and it's flood control plans. He does it from behind a green curtain and I have a pic of this past weeks proceedings. The following shot was sent to me from a highly credible source which I will keep anonymous. It is 100% legit and has not been altered, tampered with or poorly photo-shopped in any way. Outstanding! Finally, a look behind the actual curtain of life. A breath of fresh air after all of the fake news being peddled around out there. I do not know the current magic numbers or exactly when the Corps exercised its flood control over-ride. They have, of course, and my guess is the continuous discharge for several days before the last round was flood control based. My point is that until the priorities are altered to de-emphasize electrical generation, the planning will remain "on the ground" and not disaster modeling. Could explain the sadness but lack of anger the folks on taneycomo display in interviews. Having owned above Truman on the Osage those flood easements are binding and watched. The farmers up that way are real gamblers. Well put. I realize that this is not nearly the same thing but it is an analogy of sorts. I live in a house on a golf course. Naturally, it gets hit by errant golf balls on a semi regular basis. In my opinion it just goes with the territory and I knew that going in. If a window gets broken I pay to get it fixed and that's the end of it. At least until the next time. However, I have neighbors that have literally thrown punches with guys who have hit their houses with stray shots. And there is absolutely no reasoning with them. They call the police if a guy so much as sets foot in their yard to retrieve a golf ball. My point is, don't live on a golf course if you're worried about your house getting hit by a golf ball. Likewise, if you live in a flood plain or or own property at waters edge you're probably going to experience flooding at some point or another. Most realize and understand the inherent risks while others refuse to accept the obvious consequences and need someone else to blame. Most of the folks on Taneycomo just believe that it's all worth it in the end and they love living there. Nonetheless, I have great sympathy for what they're going through at the moment. I prefer to repair windows. Champ188, Longball22, Bushbeater and 3 others 6 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Bushbeater Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Not to change the subject, although I have hit a few houses. Can anyone explain the value of the water for generation? What is a Acre/Ft. worth at peak demand and how does that compare to value at minimum demand. I'm sure the lake level (Head Pressure) also has some bearing on the power produced. Just curious.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I have a buddy that did that too, Vernon. He would always run out there yelling and cussing when his house got hit. Then one day when he was ranting and screaming at the guy who hit his house the guy made a bee line for him. He gets out of the cart, all 6'6" of him, says to my buddy. "You're the idiot that moved on the golf course so just shut the F up" My buddy tucked tail and went back in the house. Seth and Bushbeater 2

Here is one chart I found that shows the charges per kilowatt hour of a typical utility. Compare that to the Megawatt hours generating right now. http://dteenergy.com/residentialCustomers/billingPayment/electricRate/comparison.html
